Welcome 2 America | San Jose May 21, 2011 | Part II
we got to San HO near HPP around 7:30pm which is when the show starts, i had already read that
Larry Graham was opening and his performance went on for about an hour. we needed a pick me up so we stopped by Carls Jr for a quick bite before we headed over to the Pavilion. i think it was 8pm when we sat down in the stadium, there was only 20 minutes left of LG's performance. he was great on the bass guitar and some of his stuff was familiar but it's a shame i don't know his music better, i couldn't really sing along.
my friends stepped out to get beers and though i really wanted one, i was like nahhh because i didn't want to have to miss any of Prince because i know i'll have to go pee. i mean you can go to the restroom during the intermission when Prince is backstage changing his heels
![  ](https://thefashionspot-data.community.forum/assets/smilies/lol.gif)
but you might be uncomfortable in the meantime. after LG left the stage, my friend Matt said he had to go to the restroom but didn't want to miss Prince but if he waited then he was going to be soo uncomfy for a while. he ended up going and missing Prince's intro!

during the show my friends stopped dancing but i kept on. finally we got to another intermission and my friend Jamie stormed out saying "i've had to pee for the past hour!" so next time, we're just gonna do shots in the car before we go in!
![  ](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/rofl.gif)
we don't wanna miss a beat!
did you guys hear some religious folks thought the world was gonna end on May 21st? i was like "nuh uh! 'cause i'm gonna see Prince and we're gonna dance together Till The World Ends!"
preshow. my view of the stage, front and center, upper level $83 and worth every penny! i thought the view was going to be awful! but the HPP was smaller than expected and even with my not-the-best vision : near sighted, no glasses/contacts, no health benefits
![  ](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/rofl.gif)
i managed to see Prince pretty well!
my photo
look at those lovely HPP workers smiling for the cameras! and helping people find their seats. they didn't care at all that we were taking pictures or video. no BIG BERTHA bothering me about camera policy
video montage with lots of old school footage. i was talking to Matt, saying how i was expecting Dave Chappelle to pop up on screen with his Prince impression and tray of pancakes!
![  ](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/rofl.gif)
which only made us crave pancakes!
![:woot: :woot: :woot:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/w00t.gif)
some hardcore fans in front of us, who apparently were lucky enough to see him at LA Forum as well

when Prince got on stage, he looked so happy to be there! and it just amped up the crowd so much. if i remember correctly he was wearing a black button up shirt with white flared pants that were pretty long so it concealed his heels until he started dancing around. whenever there was close-ups on screen of his butt, i'd pretend to be grabbing his tushie
![:brows: :brows: :brows:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/brows.gif)
and the close up of his heels were hilarious!
![  ](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/rofl.gif)
i highly suggest you guys get front facing seats(side is cool too)! the screens don't do Prince's dancing justice, seeing his lil body move around stage is amazing, so smooth! so funky!
i'm using the Setlist to help me remember. he walked out to
D.M.S.R Everybody, get on the floor, What the hell'd U come here 4? Girl, it ain't no use, U might as well get loose... then
Pop Life and
Musicology...these portions were kind of a blur for me because i was still like wooooow! Purple Yoda is right there
![:buzz: :buzz: :buzz:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/w00t2.gif)
