Princess Maxima of the Netherlands has spent these past two days immersed in the arts, in The Hague and in Zeist.

In The Hague yesterday, the Dutch Crown Princess opened the new Culturalis Theater. The theater’s emphasis is to encourage youth involvement and the development of the arts at the non-professional level. A group of young people performed for the royal during her visit, including a breakdancing routine.

Today, over in Zeist, Princess Maxima attended a the Art-Express exhibition. The show benefits the ‘Two Get There’ Foundation, which encourages art development in children. For this visit, the emphasis was more on visual arts.

Royal Fashion Friday: Princess Maxima in Hot Pink

Princess Maxima was dazzling in hot pink when she opened the new Culturalis Theater the other day. I think her outfit, particularly her darling shoes, deserves a closer look.
The Dutch crown princess had an ensemble of two pieces of the same fabric, which looks like silk brocade. First, her dress was sleeveless and fell just above the knee (you can see that dress here). Over it, was a cropped jacket embellished with a black tie. Her little purse also looks like it was custom-made from the same fabric, so that she matched completely!
Then you have to see her adorable pointy heels, which I just love! Large dangly earrings of rubies and diamonds top it all off.

Royal Fashion Friday: Dutch Royals in Formal Wear at Dance Festival

Members of the royal family of the Netherlands put on their tuxes and gowns for the opening night of the Holland Dance Festival. The biennial festival is held in The Hague and features performances, workshops and a dance parade. This year, the 12th edition, coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Nederlands Dans Theater. It runs from October 28 through November 15.
The lovely ladies of the Dutch monarchy chose different colors for their gowns. Queen Beatrix was in a navy blue fishtail gown. Princess Maxima picked a lovely grey halter, with matching wrap.

Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima walk down the carpet together. Princess Maxima’s gown really suits her, and I love the simple touch of that choker and the earrings.

Princess Laurentien was in a sea-green spaghetti strap with soft layers. Lovely color on her:

The men, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Prince Constantijn, looked sharp in their tuxedos. I wonder what Prince WA is taking photos of.

Royal Fashion Friday: Dutch Royals at the Erasmus Awards

Dutch Queen Beatrix and Crown Princess Maxima accompanied Crown Prince Willem-Alexander to the Erasmus Awards today. The prince gave out the awards to two experts in international justice: Antonio Cassese of Italy and Benjamin Ferencz of the U.S.

Queen Beatrix wore a print dress in electric blue, a shade which made her look vibrant. She kept to the blue palette, down to her necklace and earrings. I’m very much drawn to this shade of blue, and the print, though busy, is subtle enough. I like it!

Princess Maxima chose an above-the-knee dress in eggplant (or is it brown?), under a black and white coat. The colors are okay, but I think the cut of the coat – and the dress – isn’t really flattering for her. What do you think?

I know Maxima has to dress accordingly ho her, role, age, event and stuff but' i dont think i've seen her wearing that much designer, not that she's got to but, we all know most of celebs and royalty do wear it.I' ve only spotted her wearing Christian Louboutin shoes and maybe, every now and then Valentino or Benito Fernandez (argentinian designer) gowns but that's it.
Her last outfit looks nice on her but that handbag ruins it imo

Maxima mainly wears dutch designer Natan and hats by Belgian E Vermeulen. Her gowns are generally Valentino as you said or Benito Fernandez. Otherwise she has been spotted in Pucci or sporting Chanel bags, but her main designer are as I said dutch, which I find a great choice to support national fashion.

I like the coat. Looks great on her. I'm not sure of her boots, though.
