Proenza Schouler S/S 08 NYC

I thought the same thing about the Balenciaga F/W 2007 referances. Aparently so did Kathy Horn from NYTimes

I don't know what to think of this collection.

To me it was Dolce Gabbana 06 inspired with a hint of Proenza Schouler 07 sillohoutes...

I can see watered down Balenciaga, Burberry Prorsum, D&G and even Alexander McQueen in this collection.

Still, that doesn't matter too much; far, far, better derivative, than totally bland.

It's quite good, but it's not great, IMO - 6.5/10.

i always look forward to proenza .. but this is really uninspiring for me.

if i find something i like, i realise its only because it reminds me of another collection.
ie. the texture pieces.. prada. the gold... burberry. etc etc

Gorgeous collection, my fave so far. The skirts are so lovely the colours are nice too.^_^

a mix of Balenciaga wanna-be and Burberry Prorsum wanna-be. unorigininal. Honestly I expected more from them.

exactly how i fee. the color palette, the silhouettes, the styling...

i really don't see the boys as hip anymore. it used to be that age was on their side, so that sort of automatically threw them into being fresh and modern, but that reasoning is obviously wearing thin.

this collection is VERY different but i think its time for the boys to think money...
and that idea often results in not too many good things :innocent:

i am not sure if i already stated this in this thread but i think it's quite obvious that these guys are late

late on use of fabrics, late on proportion, late on the military theme, late on the styling... what they are showing now, is what everyone else did last summer, last winter, etc.
jsut what a devoted fashionista would call: OUT! sooooo laaaaast seaaaason...

i trully jsut can say that i am glad they are not gonnna be able to destroy Valentino!

could anyone post HQ runway pics???...thanks in advance
