Proposed Model Laws

Don't take it personal first of all, I'm just giving my opinion to anyone who whats to comment on it... now, yes, it became a law since last Monday, but habits that have been around for years, are not changed from day to night. Great that New York started this, even though everybody knows the main problem is not that capital.

Since I'm personally not too fond of underage models it might be a nice change if the designers would favor models over 18 in the future. Obviously, someone will continue to book younger girls, but I'm glad that they will be treated better from now on, I read too much of girls who aren't even in high school yet about their shoots till 2 am and so on.
Fashion is not the kind of industry where I see a huge place for children. Obviously, younger models would be required for certain photoshoots, but rumor is there is two-digit per centage of underage models in some fashion weeks, which frankly makes me worry. It's not even for children's fashion shows.

Disappointed to see this moved here AGAIN....It has nothing to do with Rumors and everything to do with models......

I can easily see underage models working off the clock (just like working adults) in order to get that big break and all the paperwork will be in tip top condition to "prove" they didn't. It's an uphill battle when both the models and the design houses agree to circumvent the regulations. If anything it'll just breed fear and give houses the upper hand - let's say you're an underaged model and you want your rights respected. Chances are, you will get cancelled and some lame excuse will be given as to why, but the real reason will be silently obvious.
