Pushing Daisies

I think Wonderfalls went off the air a long time ago, if I remember correctly. So it's like the same idea... this fantastical setting where magic sort of exists.

Glad you've joined the club, Luxx.

This week's episode showed some excellent progression and I truly want to know what happens next. I knew that I recognized the actor who plays Ned from somewhere! :D Wonderfalls is another great show that was canceled before its time!

I just found this great article about the State of the TV Nation and this is what it said about our new favorite show:

HERE TO STAY

Pushing Daisies (80%:( Our new favorite and yours, Pushing Daisies got great premiere numbers (13 million viewers) and kept it going strong last night (10 million). Daisies is easily the most critically acclaimed new show of the fall, and it deserves to be a trophy contender when awards time comes around. Plus, it has more buzz than all of Fox's and CBS' new shows combined. This one is alive—for good.

What wonderful news & I agree wholeheartedly! :buzz:

Yeah it was canceled by Fox who systematically cancels every interesting show that ever comes their way (Arrested Development, Wonderfalls, Firefly ) in spite of the fact that the fans really love it and/or the ratings aren't that bad. Ugh. I have a vendetta against Fox...

But thankfully Pushing Daises is on ABC

Wonderfalls
and Pushing Daises are both Bryan Fuller creations, as novella pointed out he also did Dead Like Me. ^_^ Its amazing how many cool things can come from one persons brain.

I loved the last episode where they kiss inside those plastic bags. I think this show deals a lot with loneliness and alienation but it does it in such a creative visually stylized way that as sad as some of the issues they're dealing with get things are still so whimsical / magical that you never get that truly depressed feeling. The overall look and feel reminds me a lot of the work of Tim Burton / Wes Anderson, both of whom I love a lot.

I'm not much of a person to look in-depth at symbolism and such. But, Luxx, I think you did a good job of identifying the conflict.

OMG! I loved Wonderfalls and Dead like me ... the guy from Pushing daisies is so hot I wanted him for meeeee!!! When I saw the pilot ... there was something that reminded me of Lemony snickets ... maybe the fact that there was a narrator and that its kinda dark -tho the photography is oh-so-bright!-! Im hooked!

There is this guy at my school who reminds me of Ned. He is so cute and I think he is my new crush! :P

edit: oh my god I was just looking at IMDB and did you know that Chuck is British in real life? And that she is dating and has a child with Professor Lupin from Harry Potter?!?! hehehe

I think this is the best new show on tv! Tonights episode was so great. And Ned is hot, so hot. I saw on IMDB that Adam Brody was offered the role, but turned it down. Thank god for that!

Count me in as one of the fans of the show. It's so wonderful. My favorite charater is that girl who works at Pie Hole (lol @ that name) and has a crush on Ned. She's too funny. The aunts are quite funny too. Ned and Chuck have great chemistry.

I hope it's on tv for a while and stays good.

It definitely will stay on the air! :woot: I love that Adam Brody didn't get it... it would turn this whole thing into some kind of Cali drama :innocent:

Lee Pace is so cute. Definately have a crush on him

I've only watched the first two episodes, which are very interesting. I seriously had no idea what to expect. I think the scenes are so cheesey with the monkeys kissing and the holding the their own hands.
Maybe I just want him for myself...:ninja:

I missed last week's where the person who was dead was the person who had to die because Chuck was living. My parents hate TV...

Yesterday's episode was enjoyable! I loved the odd twists, how there's a FULL story behind everything that goes on.

My favorite line was  "Can I hold your hand just for a moment while I close my eyes?" Awww...

Last night's episode was incredible!

One of the reviews I read expressed concern that the show "will collapse by episode four or five," but there's a full story behind everything as papa_levante pointed out. So I don't think that'll happen.

(in white) I especially loved the part where Ned and Chuck are dancing in beekeeper gear on the rooftop! <3

The only thing I find annoying is the narrator when he is saying how old people are. Do we really have to hear it down to the minute? It was sorta quirky the first time, but not anymore

Urgh yeah I'm really annoyed with the whole age thing too
I don't get what's the point of it..
