well, to clear it up, the local news just made it seem like the person who called mary kate, called her to let her know what was up, as it was the last number dialed. they made it seem like it was within seconds of each other.
anyway, sometimes you just wish you could do an "apple z" ( undo on mac computers)
so sad!
i woke up this morning, here in nyc, looked over to my window..it was early and the sun was just coming out. the sky was the most amazing, clear blue. it was still dark out, so it looked like it was glowing.
i thought of heath.

i also remember feeling a sorry like this when michelle and heath broke up.
they just had that rare chemistry and he was so sweet with her.
i balled my eyes out, with that picture at the academy awards and it's behind the scenes and he is fixing the ruffle on her dress.

I just find this whole thing so horribly tragic. It feels to me like it was a huge accident, I don't think I could ever be convinced it was a suicide. I feel so awful for his family and for Michelle and Matilda--that poor little girl will grow up without the father who so obviously loved her to bits, and Michelle is going to be hounded so terribly in the coming weeks. I hope she has good, strong people around her to hold her up, she's going to need the support.

The press are absolutely repulsive to me. I was watching news reports tonight and they were constantly showing footage of the paramedics bringing Heath's body out of the building (which honestly, couldn't they have shielded that scene from cameras somehow? I mean, really) and I had to turn my head. It made me cry yesterday and it doesn't get any better, I wish they'd quit. The way reporters were sneak-attacking people at events yesterday to get their feelings on the subject was appalling and ugh, I don't know, when did we get so celebrity hungry that we lost all respect for them as actual people? You'd think Heath should deserve respect and dignity now, of all times, and his family as well, but no, I seriously doubt that'll happen. It's the ultimate awful irony for a man who publicly disliked dealing with the press. I just hope he's safe now wherever he is, and that he can finally truly rest.

everyone thinks Michelle is a snob or something. But she's not all about Hollywood superficiality. In fact she comes from wealth. Her dad is a hedge fund manager with earnings in millions however, she's humble. ... asks their Brooklyn neighbors...only focuses on her craft (acting) just like Heath... i think that's why Heath was takened by her....

^ I completely agree, i can't believe about the body bag being shown on TV, I turned away whenever that came on as well, i thought it was disgusting. I though Australian news had more dignity than that but they don't, it's still plastered everywhere.
It makes me sad that they didn't stay together too.

they showed her neighbor, who said she started crying when he saw her face, she just turned slowly and was stoic

^ I, i can't believe about the body bag being shown on TV,

i was takened aback, surprised and rather angry with that too. i can't believe they allowed a bodybag of a famous person to be shown like that to the media. usually they hold white sheets up of a body bag of a celebrity as they wheeled it to an awaiting van...

lostinemotion could you post the picture of heath fixing michelle's dress if you have it, please

To be shown in a body bag on tv/internet an hour or two after death is really bad. That is no way anyone should have to find out about a loved one.

It's irresponsible, rude, horrible and cruel.

adorefaith, it's in that video that was posted this morning, in this thread..it was a montage on youtube...

The Oprah interview Marie_Carmelle is lovely. Jake is so awesome. The bit where they are asked who is the most... is cute. Michelle is the shyest apparently, Anne the most funny, Jake is the life of the party and Heath is the most serious.

:(

i am still so sad
lovely beautiful michelle she was meant to be with him foreverwhy did they split up

I don't know, she was pretty fiery at times, she took out a lawsuit to shut down some of her fansites which I find strange.
who knows, the split up for a reason but what i heard about them and i loved was that they had each a room in their apartments for Matilda that looked exactly the same so she'd feel at home.

I LOVED that whole episode of Oprah. The whole cast was so cute. Heath was especially cute when talking about Michelle.

^^His death gives an indication about why she reacted that way. She was probably trying to protect him - the little that she could do.

The level of attention and coverage is insane.

President Gerald Ford didn't even get this much attention last year; it says something about the world we live in when a celebrity gets more coverage than a world leader.

I agree, I enjoy talking about him on this website, but the coverage is going overboard.

Far as Michelle, I feel bad for Matilda, but I don't care for Michelle personality or what I have seen from her in the press, but I do feel bad for people who loved and knew Heath in this situation including Michelle.

i dont think it's overboard when discussing positive aspects of such a great young hopeful actor.
it's rare that someone has that something special that people latch onto.
everyone i talked to is very upset or hurt in some way.
especially during these tough times.

I think this is partially due to the effects of Heath's career on those around his own generation (Us), and the younger population is very much a primary target audience for media outlets today. I do not remember much coverage on President Ford, either, but I think even if I did peruse news of his passing, I would not be familiar with the impact of his presidency/other achievements in life, since most of it occurred before my time  But in the end it is still all relative for the media, since Reagan received extraordinary coverage...perhaps everything's merely measured by one's notability in general history?

Heath's passing is comparable to James Dean and River Phoenix's sudden deaths as well, so in today's celebrity culture it is not surprising that the new outlets are so focused upon it. It's almost a sensational tale :/
