R.I.P. Heath Ledger

Heath's been in my mind ever since his death. I just can't seem to shake it. And whenever someone brings it up, it hurts. Especially when people talk about it and don't know all the facts (like some people I know think he overdosed on purpose and that even if it proves to be accidental they say they won't believe it because they think it'll just be "a cover up")!

I don't pretend to know Heath and I've never met him, but I'm still so affected by all of this. It's like I've lost someone important in my life, and he was. He deeply inspired me and he was my very favorite actor.

A lot of us had panic disorder. It is the modern world. A bit of soul searching and righting of a few wrong things (or being in the process of righting them) worked wonders. As did diet, excercise and therapy. I for one refused meds.

goodness, i can't believe alot of tfs members have panic disorder. thank God I don't and don't take different meds. *knocks on wood* the only med i used is cough medication in the past. now that i drink tea regularly i haven't had a need for it for over 3 yrs

... anyhoo... GETTING BACK to Heath .... i will miss him in and around the city. he's been like a fixture here. i've seen, as well as met him at places i frequent. i've admired his work emmensely. he was always one of my favorite actor. and his voice.... *swooooooooooons* ...always makes me weak in the knees

obviously, i'm not the only one who suffered panic. but,living in ny, there was no way i could just take work off. i would say i'm very well adjusted human and never thought i worried in an abnormal way.
like i said, if i could, i would have, but i was not feeling the jumping out of skin feeling in any way.
i know meds alone would not have worked. i had to work so hard to force myself to eat balanced meals, force myself out of bed, force myself to think positive, because i had NO ONE to turn to.
Everyone dissed me when I went through it, because as you know, being around someone who flees the scene out of now where, isn't too fun.
Anyway, this isn't to bash anyone, but we should be mindful and everyone has their own way to deal with things. Your reality is not mine and so on.
I think we should get back on topic, because we are drifting.
Anyway, I come here to mourn with like minded people and find myself defending.

Absolutely lostinmotion. You sound like you have a healthy attitude to meds. It just makes me sad that they aren't used in a last case scenario anymore and are being handed out like sweets. I know sooo many people on them who didn't try other stuff first. And I am not dictating, I am just wishing I had these actors back in the world.

And people like iluvjeisa - no criticism, it is an alternate point of view considering her job and stuff - seem so bent on conspiracy theory about drugs and things that I feel like I have to say well no, why go to the extent of speculating about drugs and suicide when the only evidence is the meds? Let's talk about them before running off into the realms of 'aliens did it' (because until we have proof) And meds aren't as safe as people nowadays think. Maybe Heath didn't give it as much thought as he ought.

FYI: ... even legal meds ,if takened more than the recommended dosage is lethal.

*anyone who takes legal meds ,disregarding the recommended dosage is setting him/herself for destruction intensionally ...

like i said before, meds really are very sensitive and anything can take you over the edge. people prob don't realize you can't drink grapefruit juice with klonopin. do docs tell you that? not always. i only found out when I tried to ring up a bottle of grapefruit juice with my prescription and the pharmacist chewed my head off.
he stuck a sticker on it...
but that goes to show you, that anything can take you down. it's not just psychological meds. it has a physical effect.

I don't see what's wrong with considering a mystery, even a tragic and hurtful mystery. Having a theory based on what little fact we know is not a conspiracy theory, merely a theory. Throwing away *meds* when someone dies or is close to it, is pretty commonplace, it's not like it's the end of the world. And it's not necessarily what I think happened either. I have a general strategy where I throw out ideas and see if someone else has other interesting ideas - I guess it's a form of communication.

Hopefully, what we hear is wrong and it didn't take as long as it seems to have to get the medics in.

I am not working for a pharmaceutical company, I just have another opinion than yours.

If he did die from legal meds, he will not have taken it as prescribed. I don't see too much of a difference afterall, there are just essentially two or three possibilities of what happened. Equally sad, and nothing that should lead to that doctors shouldn't prescribe klonopin or any of the benzos where applicable.

...i need to say this, why do celebrity or celebrities' siblings always have to take all types of medication? it just baffles me...

... there's alot but these are the people i can think of as of right now...

*the question is why? is this the norm in most household? am i sheltered? lol. i mean, these aren't medication for blood pressure, cholesterol, anemia or anything medical that is the norm. we're talking mostly, with anti-depression, anxiety, pain killers etc.

i asked my cousin who is a pharmacist, and he says yes, you can die with your prescribed amount . like if the person is not well inside or mixed it with another cough syrup etc.
or if they had something in their body from days before.
anyway...the toxicology will show.
for all we know, he could have an undiagnosed illness.

well smartarse, when i first went to my doctor and told him i thought i was having a heart attack, he asked if i saw all of the people in the waiting room, that i just waited 2 hours in, i told him yes and he said, 90 percent are here for their anxiety.
i think, atleast for us, in nyc, we are living on edge after 9-11 and dont realize it.
My other sister's legs and arms go completely numb when she has panic. Her friend died on 9-11 and the shock still effects her.
I think it's very real. People used to drink their probs away, back in the days or just thought they were crazy.
It's more acceptable.

but that doesn't make celebrities and their siblings one too. most of them don't live here. i don't think Heath was here in 2001. ...not sure if he was livin here already ....

It's unlikely a doctor would suggest he take all the meds he had in his room. I can't see why he would have valium and benzos. But then, maybe he just took the prescribed amount of one of them, sure. Still, not likely IMO.
