Raf Simons Leaving Christian Dior; Maria Chiuri Rumored In

^Oh god, if only to keep Katie out of Dior I'm really hoping this isn't true. I'm shuddering at the thought.

Holy crap...I can only expect now to see basic garments in colour blocking and vibrant prints at Dior...just like what he did in his own brand.

Ugh. If this is indeed the case, what a miserable choice. He truly is - as Mullet so eloquently stated - such a day two NYFW designer. Is this Dior's answer to Jason Wu at Hugo Boss? I've looked through some pictures of his work, and there's simply nothing definitive or unique about his designs...and I'm sorry, but "colorful" is not a legitimate aesthetic.

What an absolute waste of an opportunity.

Wait, WHA?

I still think Sarah would be a much better fit at Dior versus McQueen

This got me very confused to the point I'm wishing the Sarah Burton's rumor turns out to be true.

About Jonathan, well, I can't say much because his work has been beyond unremarkable and that's why his "relevance" has been nothing but a flash in the pan; I can imagine his tenure as a 2.0 Raf's Dior: Colorful and asymmetrically-cut cocktail frocks.

It's not only a waste of an opportunity, It's a waste of a fantastic plataform for a talented Designer, waste of one of the most skilled atelier in the world, waste of a rich archive and I could go on and on...

So they're bringing a worse version of Raf Simons? What a joke.

If this is true, WHHHAAAAAAT?? I honestly cannot recall a single Saunders collection. I don't remember them to be bad, but I also don't remember anything else about them. It is the trend to appoint young buzz designers, but does Saunders even have a whisper going on in the industry? Talk about unexpected.

i don't get it but at least i suppose he makes beautiful womens clothing, he won't try on us a hedi or vetements thing

@jonathantsaunders - I see a few congratulations on the newest post.

I guess we'll see. I just really hope who ever they get a Dior will bring them some place good and new *crosses everything that can be crossed*

i see it now under @saundersstudio
can't find any @jonathansaunders but his @saundersstudio

Till now nobody announced. BoF normally is first, let us see what is going on.
I hope Dior will not send one more HC does by Team???
And Haute Couture will start from July 2nd , in 3 monthes.

More news, and nothing definitive yet. The Dior cruise show will be in London on May 31. Maybe it's a hint?

If they will do cruise by team than they can do also couture by team. I don't understand what Dior is looking for. The "team collections" are horrible. IMO
It is time to make a decisionand and hire the creative designer.

So disappointing, Dior homme has been so lackluster for the past ten years since kva took over and now this.
Sometimes I feel the reason for kva's longevity at the house is somewhat due to his willingness to be cooperative with the execs, i.e. Not having a total 'say' and such. Saunders give me such a vibe, hope I am wrong.

His previous designs hasn't been outstanding and I agree with creative that he doesn't generate vibes as well, so I can only wish he can improvise within Dior's atelier, else it will be a major downfall of one of the most prestigious house.

marketing is important and so are the sales of handbags, but I think fashion is beyond that and sure the executives in the house realize too.

^Can't agree more, hopefully he surprises us in a positive way.

Actually Jonathan's quite talented. Some of his early days collections were Prada-ish, which were not bad at all. But he became really really lazy these past few years. I'm happy with his new role @ Dior and I hope that he will last more than 1 seasons.
