I'll try to find some pictures of it later but most of you have probably seen them already. I was introduced to them in the latest issue of Elle magazine.

The whole nail is painted one color, usually hot pink or red etc...and then the bottom has a strip of white or silver or a lighter shade of the allover one. so it looks like a colorful french manicure, turned upside down.

im still deciding whether i like these or not, on some people it looks great and funky and on others it looks like they forgot to extend their nailpolish all the way down their fingernails.

what do you think?

im sure you'll hear of them soon. some of the models in the magazine had them so it wouldnt surprise me if it made its way to the runway and younger models as well.

thats cool......i used to get something like that ( i have short nails) but purple/silver red/gold but 'regular' with the tips a different clor....i check out elle, this sounds fun looking :)

it was pretty popular in asia a while ago...
i think its cute..!!! :D

i used to get it done in all kinds of diff colors...

my favorites are
pink base / white tip
nude base / bright colored tip (hot pink, lime green, etc)
pastel blue base / silver tip

you can also get double or triple tipped french nails....
instead of having one striped tips, you can have them paint the base color, then paint two stripes of tips in diff colors... make sense? those are pretty cute too.. excellant for summer! :)

ah breatheoxygen you must be right
i think i misunderstood what she wrote...
anyways i just made a nail arts thread in the makeup section
so go check it out :)

Come to think of it, I did see a piece in a teen magazine (several years ago  ) about painting your nails white and the moon blood red... I tried it, it didn't work..

My grandmother has always done her nails with the moons left uncovered. It probably used to be considered unladylike to paint your entire nail. (To help you with your fashion history, she was born in the 1920s)

Nothing says bridge and tunnel quite like gaudy nail art. Maybe I should be more open- minded, but for me, nail art is reserved for the pre-pubescent and the ghetto-fab among us. I'm also not a fan of acrylic nails. I keep my nails tastefully short and one color. Oh well. Maybe I'm just boring

mmm i think this looks really not very nice. tacky. sorry.

i remeber ages ago about 1yr ago in sum gossip magazine like heat or sumthing, jordan (the glamour model) had a reverse manicure and the magazine said it was chipped nail varnish, but then a reader wrote in a corrected them and they printed an appology
