even better than expected...
it`s perfection!

the SA said that that this seasons jackets are somewhat bigger than previous seasons. if that`s interesting info for anyone.. (?)

ok so i am going to see the SS08 collection in the showroom.
i was wondering if guys and girls could give me a brief of the best sellers as i will be buying it for my store...
i am very excited to see the mens!!

I think most of the leather jackets, including the classics that he does every year sell very well. Actually just any jackets really, not just leather. I often see the thin silk tanks, dresses and skirts on sale though so I wouldnt go for those.

I'd love to hear about the ss collection when you see and any pics if you can!

Leyla, you buying mens? Mens and womens? Or just womens?

For Men, I would say the leathers do well almost every season. Tees and tanks always do well and it looks as though he made a new tank top cut for men this season (not 100%, just going by the pics). I think the asymmetrical zip, hooded jacket will be a good seller as well as the zip vests, and shorter shorts.

For men, as mentioned, the t-shirts and vests and leather jackets and outerwear. I don't know if he does the silk knit t-shirts year round, or just for A/W, but they're nicer, last longer and are seemingly less prone to holes, which I've found to be a problem with the cotton knits. From what I remember, they were a similar price to the cotton as well, but just go with the plain ones and avoid any printed or appliqued ones, as they never seem to sell well. I'm surprisingly excited about the double layer t-shirts I've been seeing recently, I don't know if they're new, but I really like the idea. Also for men, those buttonless cardigans like this one:

Sold crazy well when I worked at Liberty, but the rest of his boiled/felted wool pieces for men tend to be a bit, um...ugly. He also does really beautiful sharp suiting that a lot of retailers don't buy, which is a shame because it's really well constructed, and quite unexpected from him. Some of the DRKSHDW jeans are nice, and I like his trainers.

But Leyla you've got great taste, so whatever you buy will be amazing.

thanks everyone!!

casius, it will be ladies and mens but my mens is even more select than my ladies so it needs to be spot on.
i am looking forward to seeing some suits and even jeans for men!!

for those of you new yorkers, century 21 got tons of rick owens, lilies, and dark shadow stuff, for both men and women. saw a great classic men's black leather jacket for $700 or so, in a medium i think. lots of nice tops for women, but only a few leather jackets that were typically too weird for real people.

Sizing Question

I like my leather jackets to fit ultra tight-but I also want to be able to zip them up. So I guess my question is with the Rick Owens all-leather jackets (like the one pictured below), is the XXS/size 38 in Italian the equivalent of a size 0 (US) jacket and the XS/size 40 in Italian like a size 2 (US)? Also, is there any "give" or stretch to these jackets? I really want a Rick Owens jacket, but I don't live anywhere near a stockist so that I can try one on for myself, so I would probably have to order one from Net-a-porter.com or something.

I really like this one:

Has anyone cleaned their Rick Owens leather jacket? I spilled some miso soup on my jacket this weekend, and I would like to have cleaned, but the leather has gone through a specific process to get that 'look' so I'm a bit concerned about giving it to anyone.
help?

I'm considering buying this RO leather shearling jacket but I'm just not sure it will work for my body type. Does anybody have this one and if so how does it fit? Does it keep warm?

when they first came out I tried one on and it was an awkward fit for me. narrow in the arm, really long arms which don't work on this type of coat, and big in the chest so the velcro closing was not going to do a thing... but warm, you bet!!!

pucci,

i enquired while placing my order at the head office and was told that most people who work there AND the director (he emphasised it over and over again)throw them into the washing machine :woot:
specially great on the washed leather ones :)

Thanks, luckyme! I was already afraid that it was too big in the chest which would mean that it would probably look ridiculous on a tiny person like me. Unfortunately there are no shops around here that stock RO because I would like to try it on first. But I might just order it from yoox, see how it fits and then I can always return it, I guess.
