Singer Tina Turner has died at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. In a statement, Her spokesperson said: "Tina Turner, the 'Queen of Rock'n Roll' has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model."

Her music and persona were totally part of my childhood in my household.
A true example of resilience!
And talk about a woman or artist who had a real genuine connection with fashion.
The Hair, Alaia, Armani and the way Lindbergh captured her! What an icon!

So lovely to return to this thread and see everyone sharing the same sentiments toward such an ICON!
No amount of words can describe or attest to the fact that I adored, adore and will continue to adore Tina Turner. My one and only since I was a toddler, watching and listening in awe to her concerts via the TV. Obsessed would be an understatement - still to this very day. Not a single day goes by where I don't listen to at least several of her records without hesitation. My heart sank and my stomach was in knots yesterday when I heard the news - was numb from head to foot to be completely honest.
Tina will be a massive MASSIVE miss, but make no mistake that her music will live on forever and ever in our household (BLASTING though the speaker, because that's simply the only way to listen to Tina Turner).
