I bought the new Vanity Fair today and all of the ads in this thread are in it.
Let me say that:
-The Versace looks even better in print. I stared at it for at least a minute and I know there are still areas of that image that did not touch my eye. I mean, say what you want about the nouveau-fluoro clothes and Rianne Ten Haken, but this is exceptional, effective advertising here!
-The Prada looks much more painterly on paper. I like it, though Daria looks a bit drugged. I wish there was a little something more going on in the background. I can't wait to see the rest of this series.
-The Vuitton is really quite incredible. Karen Elson's hair billows in the wind like the reddest flame. Her makeup is strong and gilded and matches the collection so well down to her Guy Bourdin-red nails. In fact, this ad looks like something Bourdin would do today (R.I.P.)--big, bold, glossy to the max! I really love it! I just wish they would have included any of the incredible bags from the spring collection in this ad. I mean, does the Monogram Speedy 25 need anymore press?
