You know, I take back what I said about Hilary Rhoda. I think Karl could use her, because he did use Angela Lindvall for a few seasons and she's pretty All-American looking as well.

Jessica Miller currently has the beauty campaign too, and she's also very All-American looking.

to me daria is obviously european. she looks like some gypsy fantasy. his multicultural choices refelect the globalization of cultures/nations, and may be an effort to reach diverse markets vs. look american. america reaklly isn't that diverse in comparison to france... and infact france is known for exotic blends of middle-easterners, africans, a significant asian population, not to mention eastern euopeans, etc.
the main resason why i think he wouldn't used hilary is there is no emtion in her face. she is a statue. aall the other chanel girls could really pose interstingly. i am rooting for irina.-

i wouldn't define too daria as a typical american girl or just typically representing america. or at least she may represent - if she'll continue to grow up as good as she's done so far - a kind of minor progressive america.
so, as a global judgment, seeing her multicultural background, i think daria has simply the best of the new world and the best of the old good european tradition.

Am I the only one......that gets a bit sad everytime a campaign goes to a celebrity? I really do think campaigns are a model's domain.

I'm sick of celebrities in general. I can't stand any campaigns featuring them, I'm with you 100%. I wish the whole celebrity culture would die.

^^^i don't know if Jessica Pitti has Marc Jacobs. I thought the caption about Marc Jacobs was referring to a different picture of her feet wearing Marc Jacobs shoes. Are you sure he wasn't just saying that they already have a piece from the SS07 collection for a editorial shoot?
edit: also, the dress she is wearing isn't in his runway collection

I actually hope Kate would go away for a while, I can open a magazine without seeing her. It used to be awesome, like 'oooh, look. Kate Moss, modeling legend' but over and over again, it gets very tiring.

Excited for Prada, even if it isn't Sasha again. Prada usually make stars out of their models a la Daria, Stam, Sasha (obviously), etc.
