S/S 2009 Ad Campaigns (please read post #1 before posting)

Oh please NO Isabeli for Versace. She's arrogant, pretentious and not even that attractive.

The last *good* Versace campaign was Spring 2007, in my opinion. It had some LIFE in it, which is more than I can say for the last 3 stale campaigns.

PRINGLE’S NEW GUARD: Pringle of Scotland has tapped a troika of trans-Atlantic “It” girls to be the faces of the label’s spring campaign. Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe and Lydia Hearst all are featured in the campaign — shot by Steven Meisel in spare, black-and-white tones — alongside male models Ash Stymest and Gordie Walker. “We were looking at iconic faces…we wanted it to feel young, vibrant and very British,” said Clare Waight Keller, creative director of Pringle. “Pixie Geldof had been on our radar for a little while, and then we started looking at the friends she hangs around with....I liked the feeling of reality behind that, that it’s not just pulled together for an ad campaign.”

Fabien Baron at Baron & Baron worked with Waight Keller as artistic director for the campaign, which was styled by Karl Templer with hair by Guido Palau and makeup by Pat McGrath. Waight Keller said she wanted the campaign to have a “Sixties feel, in the way that Avedon and Bailey captured the spirit of the people of the time.” And in keeping with the group’s bohemian leanings, it turns out modeling is only a day job for Stymest — he also plays drums in a band called, appropriately, “The Mannequins.” The campaign will break in March issues of titles including Vogue, W, Interview and Harper’s Bazaar. — N.J. I thinks it's pretty sad that not since Du Juan or Ai Tominaga that an Asian model has been able to grace some major ad campaigns. And I am still frustrated that Georgina Stojiljkovic hasn't nabbed anything major. She DESERVES to get at least ONE major campaign. I thought with that face of hers, shé would've exploded like Daria Werbowy during her peak time. Oh well.

Tanya Dziahileva really deserves the Versace campaign. It's been overdue already. I mean if Cat McNeil could nab it at a young age, why not give Tanya a chance? She obviously fits the brand's asthetic and has looked gorgeous opening for Versace twice. You know what would be great? Having Tanya, Georgina and Jourdan in the Versace campaign. That would definitely be heaven.

I don't know your perception of major, but Du Juan and Ai Tominaga each got a Giorgio Armani and Gucci campaign under their belts respectively.

Donatella has mentioned Isabeli Fontana as her current model obsession in i-D magazine a few months back. Although, a lot can change in a few months time, i think she's very likely to repeat the campaign again.

Or it could very well be Kate Moss. Someone mentioned she has 5 campaigns this season.

for the ones who don't like isabeli, i can calm you down because she mentioned only Missoni like italian campaign.

but this some times ago.....

for the ones who love her, like j'ador dior said, Donatella said (and i was there) that Isabeli is the only model whose face interests her.

so isabeli could be in the campaign again. but if i'm not wrong versace don't like to use same models for 2 different season

yup, that's what i meant. not since both of them has an Asian model nabbed something uber major like Gucci, LV, Versace, etc. I almost forgot there's also Hye. She has nabbed some major ones (Dolce, Maxmara, Tiffany) but maybe not as uber big as the both of them (Du Juan - LV campaign, Ai - YSL). Besides that, there was that one time where Chloe used Asian models in their campaign rite? I think it wasn't so long ago.

i dont think tanya would be right for versace...she may have an amazing walk and body for her age...but her face isnt right at all...i cant remember versace using an "alien" model...and at the trio for pringle...i can maybe deal with lydia hearst but all of them together is a disaster...and they get to work with meisel...a shame to waste his talents on them but maybe he can actually look decent

This just sounds like an absolute load of crap.......what the hell is Meisel thinking I'll possibly be eating my words when it surfaces, but I sincerely doubt it.
