I feel kind of nervous, maybe it just comes with the territory now, but noticing the trends across designers I once felt were more honest is disheartening. Does everyone use trend forecasting software?
Not a fan of "Where The Wild Things Are" but I'm here for the savage vibe of the fur scarf worn over the green suit of the opening look and then the later shearling style coat over a plaid suit. Although I don't really like the ski influenced looks, most of the menswear is good and I also really like the leather pieces.
There is a lot to process here though and I think the fuglier pieces will start to emerge once I've looked at this a few times. She needs to stop showing the women's Pre-Fall alongside the men's IMO. Can't she just do a lookbook? Bet it was Karl's suggestion to show them together because you know...you can't go too long without having the same top models also walking in or closing men's shows .
There are some great pieces but the styling is terrible. She loves to overdesign which I don't mind but the eye needs to rest. A pair of sleek pants and simple heels would do wonders. Now it feels very suffocating.
For me there are only two interesting garments here: the opened facings jacket and the bomber-coat hybrid jacket. The rest is very "Flintstones ski resort" for me...
There’s a lot here but when the lot tones itself down, you realize there’s nice clothes here. Other times, you’re wondering why they’re wearing ski goggles or why a cropped floral outfit is paired with oversized Uggs.
