Im talking about boots that almost seem slim at the knee then when they get to the enkle they scrunch and become wider almost...

they were biggest at rick owens and balenciaga but it seems as thoguh several other designers are adopting the look...

start with balenciaga pree fall 08

Not a fan, they seem to faddish..
They make ones legs seem like huge elephant stems..

If I wanted the scunchy effect I'd probably wear boots and add heavy legwarmers on top of them..

i think the trend must have derived from streetwear/the current trend of denim and stacking... or the scrucnching near the ankle...
i think the sillhouette is odd but interesting... its perplexing to think that some women would want their ankle to appear larger then the rest of their leg

Scrunchy Boots, huh? I'm loving seeing (and even drawing) romantic ankle boots. Someone noted that this effect could be better acheived with heavy leg warmers paired with boots. Unless designers want to make femmes better able to tuck jeans into boots with bigger-leg boots, I'm not really feeling some of these. Some of these boots can look pretty lovely while others are pretty terrible. Some of the tops of these boots can be too chunky up top. I'm sorry... I'm not really feeling it with these boots being worn. And I have my issues as to what legs compliment these kinds of boots to look great. At least these are a little better than the overkilled Arctic boots and mukluks (I say overkilled as far as how cold Houston gets. It's not severely cold in colder times here, so wearing them here in H-Town is overkill unless it's really highs of 50-degrees or less here).

Maybe this trend catches on, or maybe not. Just not real sure about if this is a style to be excited about.

well
not every woman is preoccupied with flattering her leg
we see plenty of women that dress in larger shapes and proportions

Interesting trend to see on the runway, but it's very trendy and will die out quite quickly IMO.

Chanel carried tall black boots with tan soles and heals last winter with the similar slouch effect...

This look has been around for quite sometimes actually...It's just now being shown on the runway in abundance.

Remember the Frye craze in '04-'05?

i think if youre confident with your legs then you wouldnt necessarily want to be showing them off continuously. i saw some scrunchy boots that comes above your knees and they look great.

LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!! i worn my scrunchy black boots until the bottom was falling off. I can't get enough.
