those white pants are ridiculous.

but i'm quite intrigued to see what's inside. hope there's not too much charlotte......

Charlotte in Louis Vuitton, groundbreaking stuff here folks. zZzzZZzz

^ Yeah seriously! more Charlotte, more of Nicolas, i mean......here only for Meisel in what i truly hope is one of those rare instances he agreed to do an interview.

the cover look very amateur to Self service

I like the cover and am really looking forward to the content of the issue!

Kinda loving them on the cover, but not crazy/thrilled with the styling. Curious about the content, though!

SELFIE SERVICE: French stylist Marie-Amélie Sauvé, tapped as guest editor of the next issue of Self Service magazine, due out Sept. 15, learned a great deal about the eclectic personalities featured in the issue — including intimates like Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of women’s collections at Louis Vuitton.

For example, it turns out Ghesquière has all the trappings of a serious journalist. Tasked with interviewing Sauvé, “He prepared questions and everything,” she marveled in an interview. “I was really open to talking, as I know him very well.”

Unifying the articles and the photos was a key mission for Sauvé, who observed that these parts often appear “disconnected” in magazines. Sauvé contributed six fashion shoots with photographers including Glen Luchford, Karim Sadli, Venetia Scott, Casper Sejersen and Jamie Hawkesworth. She also scored a rare interview with Steven Meisel, accompanied by a treasure trove of his early photos, including a street-style shot from the Sixties that puts many present practitioners to shame, as well as a portfolio from the Nineties chosen by art director Marc Ascoli.

The conversation with Meisel, as with other subjects in the issue, concerned “the fashion system, which is changing so fast,” Sauvé said. “The Internet is changing things a lot.”

The 365-page issues comes with three different covers, including one with Sauvé and Charlotte Gainsbourg flipping their hair. The French actress, a muse of Ghesquière’s, also turns up in fashion shoots.

French cosmetic surgeon Olivier de Frahan and Miuccia Prada are interviewed in the issue as well. Sauvé confessed she had never met Prada, despite all her years in fashion. “It was superinteresting to meet with her, and I think we connected very well,” she said.

I agree with Testinofan, it looks pretty amateur in a certain way.
The retouching (MAS is pretty gorgeous, so I dont understand why she's often over-retouched), the "M.A.S" (I thought I would only see these acronyms onto tFS ... Btw, Self Service you forgot a "." after the S., and I'm not sure but I think it is Marie-Amelie, ie M.-A., and not Marie Amelie, M.A. - oops sorry academics souvenirs, but for the price I expect something proofs corrected) ...

I don't really mind having Vuitton by NG again (tbh Self Service is an independent magazine - so it is not the same rule at stake). I mean these are his 2 muses, and he's coming back to rule a French/Spanish brand, after Marc Jacobs. So I'm pretty happy for him.

I had to google the photographer (he is actually the photographer of the Nymphomaniac promotion campain), and I am pretty glad because he's got a good corpus of works. I enjoy the aesthetic. And then he gives this as a cover ? damn bad.

But MEISEL (years after 032C, am I right ? Do they think we have amnesia ? I think it is good that someone doesn't talk too much.), Pat McGrath (Meisel's make-up longtime partner), Delphine Arnault (who is pretty rare, this one), Prada (years after iD) ...

That sounds like a good issue at the end of the day. A sort of family issue. Something that makes sense, with international fashion royalty.

PS: In an Inez&Vinoodh curated magazine (I forgot the name, but it's releasing these days, I think) ... There's an itw with E.Alt ....

is the old Vogue Paris crew represents, b####@s

It's way too early to photograph this collection but I guess we needed a break from Fall's dominance. The cover is alright, nothing spectacular or memorable.

Actually, the full stop (.) layout is correct here. You don't use a full stop after someone's last name, whether in full or initial format. And yes, while 'Marie-Amélie' is hyphenated first name, you don't detail the hyphen (-) when the name is initialed. The jury is still out regarding the use of full stops after hyphenated first name initials. Some use it,and some don't. Surnames are a different story though. Just saying.

Isn't it too early to already shoot S/S collections? The cover looks ok, I like the oddness and muted colour scheme, but those pants on Marie-Amélie?? :yuk:. I'll wait for the other two covers to surface first.

Finally a different cover with LV. I was sick of seeing Fall everywhere.

Here's a preview. Someone already posted the accompanying article.
