Great to see this thread active again after somewhat a vacation. I passed on the latest shoe offered. So you're hesitant to get the open-toe boot... those things in Post #10,164? Here are my opinions, and I must warn you... I'm not going to be real kind. So you may want to avoid this post if it's too harsh.
You're kidding, right? This would be one of those shoes that would fit in perfectly as artwork. Even still, these may be the ugliest shoes I've ever seen in my 3 years, 10 months on the Fashion Spot. Nay! No, let me rephrase that... HELL NAY!!! The shoes go with nothing. Almost as if there was a contest to design the world's igliest shoes. Guess what? Mission accomplished! There were too many ugly shoes to name in the "Hybrid Shoes" thread that I can't pick a worst of all-time. This thing is ghastly. It's like open-toe boots that can't decide on being sandals, oxfords, pumps, or any combination of the three. Oh, wait... it IS trying to be a mix of all of them. And just like all the tough shoes trying to look chic that most femmes go goo-goo-gaa-gaa over, they are an absolute fail. I see no way I can even recommend these unless you intentionally want the ugliest shoes anyone can wear. Were all the cute/stylish/chic shoes taken, leaving you only those shoes?
I'm sick of when someone likes shoes like these just because they are different. Not because they are even remotely recommendable, but different. Different doesn't make these better. There's a difference between different-recommendable and different-different. Different-recommendable means that it's a different kind or style of shoe that can be wearable and fashion-forward. Either that, or just an acception to a rule. Different-different means that someone tries something completely unusual to try to woo over fans from one standard of shoe to another. That's even if they are styled much too different to even be recommended. Those are different-different. And just like the 2008 Detroit Lions of the NFL- they are a miserable failure. Don't be tempted to get these at all. They give you nightmares at night. Want something ugly, but decent? Simple. Get open-toe boots or gladiator sandals. Leave these monsters alone. Shoes like those belong in one of two places- a landfill or a trash incinerator. There are no rules to fashion, but these shoes have so many violations that the designer(s) should be ashamed of themselves for making such disasterous shoes like this.
Maybe the worst shoes I've ever seen other than most of the shoes from the "Hybrid Shoes" thread. These are worst than most open-toe boots. These are worse than gladiator sandals. At least the two kinds of shoes are shoes. Whatever kind of atrocities are these, they aren't even worth being on store shelves or shoe racks. PLEASE avoid these and find some shoes, not monsters. Only if I was drunk or high (or both) would I recommend those. Rant over. And remember, different doesn't always mean better. And these are certainly not exempt.
