Shoes: yay or nay? #1

ok I need comfort, my shoe maker (my regular shoe maker retired so now I have a new one, he already soled one pair of old shoes for me perfectly) but now he ruined my karen millen shoes, the machine made a tear in it while he was putting on rubber soles, I get a full refund of course but I'm heartbroken since they were from the winter collection and there's no way I can find them anywhere anymore :( :( :( :(

I need a new shoe maker and new shoes!

this pair of flats of the other, both by paul smith (from paulsmith.co)

I don't wear flats either but I needed a comfy and stylish shoe for school :)

which ones YAY? it's two pair and I can't afford both :D:D

The only way I dislike a pair of flats is if they aren't styled very well or have bad-looking designs. So with this said, time to offer my opinions to you, Valkyrie.

So let me answer the easy question- Yay! to the first pair and Yay! to the other.

I took a look at both flats and almost couldn't tell them apart. The designs are similar, but the shoe style is different. One has a big bow at the feet while the other has a more modest bow. It's tough to judge two similarly-styled shoes. I think if I had to choose... this one is tough. This is one of those "I would get both, if I could" situation. The thing I usually wonder about ballet flats is... I can understand they can be comfortable, but how much so? I'd have my doubts with the second pair, though I think they are very cute. You COULD go with the first pair.

Since you're talking shoe makers, this would be my formula for the two shoes you mentioned:
the shoe design of the second flats + the heel of the first flats = dream ballet flats

This was a tough Yay or Nay? to me. It's up to you when you have to call a decision this close. It's all up to you because this is very close to call.

thanks for all the comments, I'm going shopping tomorrow and I really hope the stores have both available

my heart goes out to the 2nd pair although the 1st one is also sweet, will have to see for myself and which one fit best!

@john: comfortable? I think more comfortable then my 10cm heels I only have available for summer, walking around in them all day is tough! and I'm a sucker for designer shoes, if I like something you can bet the price tag is the same but I always have a perfect style :D

me mum bought me these. should i keep them or return them? aren't pointed toes out of trend already?

To oochoo... I think those are some pretty shoes. I haven't a problem with those pointy-toed shoes. The style of the shoes are fairly appropriate. Maybe with an ankle wrap or maybe a peep-toe style up front, you'd be crazy to want to return those. The only reasons to return the shoes is either if (1) the shoes don't fit well, or (2) they aren't available in any other sizes.

So I'd keep those. By the way, Yay! to those!

For the slingback peep-toe wedges in Post #10,556... I'm going to have to Nay! these. I'm not feeling these at all. Just not too much to love with these for me. They are a fail, but not an outright fail.

lmelanie, i think those shoes will look better when it's actually worn in person..so i'd
say yay.

Valkyrie: Yay! to both. I'm more drawn to the first one, though. The bow looks more sophisticated (maybe cause they remind me of Ferragamo flats, and those look cute with anything)

oochoo: this one's a Nay! for me. The color and pointy toes are fine with me (I have pointy-toed pumps) but the heel of this particular pair look very dated.

Imelanie: Nay! for me too. Something about it looks a bit off, you might end up looking granny-ish with this pair. I could be wrong, but the photo just gives me that impression.
