Shoes: yay or nay? #1

Time for a Texan to help another Texan. Those Tumlin wedges by Aldo (Post #10,942)... this one's easy- [Absolute] Nay! I know lots of people have defended open-toe boots before, and I don't like these one bit. Either you can get a lovely pair of wedge sandals, or a cute wedge boot. You CAN'T have both at once in one shoe. These are terrible-looking shoes, even if they are cheaply-priced. Stay away from these ugly monsters! Absolute nay to those.

I've never bought shoes online from forever21 before and I'm worried that these may not look as good irl

What do you guys think?

chicandcool, sorry I don't like it... all those straps makes it look like a gladiator sandals with heel.
They may look better than gladiator sandals but I'm still Nay.

I'm really fussy with Gladiator-style shoes too, most are a nay, these less so, but still a nay. Like m.j. says there's quite a lot going on, straps going everywhere seemingly without purpose. I think they'd look a lot better on though.

These shoes in Post #10,948 remind me a lot of the shoes Amanda on Ugly Betty won in the finale. I put that on my nay list, so I'll do the same for these. I'm surprised there aren't more yay's than nay's since open-toe boots are so loved. It's Nay! from me. These are sandals that can't decide on if they want to be boots or sandals. Miserable fail, I don't care what anyone says.

Thanks for your sharing your opinion guys.

I definitely need to see them in person before I make a decision.

winners or losers? are they timeless or trendy? B)

luckyme, those boots remind me of the 90's but in a good way. i think they will be good for rainy days in the fall. so yay.:flower:

Luckyme, I have a total weakness for boots, especially like those above so I say YAY but I admit to bias. :) I do think those can be casual *and* dressed up and will go with a lot of looks and will be wearable for a while.

Reminded of the '90s... "in a good way?" I'd prefer the '90s (and '70s) than... that other decade 99% of the human population loves. Anyhow, those boots (Post #10,954) are a win. That's Yay! worthy boots. You got my vote.

I've been thinking about this particular pair for the past few months...yes, no?

luluposh - yay!
lucky - I love a good pair of stompers, but something about the rounded toe plus chunky heel seems a little off to me, so I am nay-ish. :flower:

I'm going to have to Nay! those shoes in Post #10,958. Not to my liking. Never liked gator-style shoes (if they aren't those details on the shoes remind me of them). That even includes some dressy men's shoes in a similar design. Sorry..

Lucky, yay from me too. I'm sure you'll get a lot of wear out of those boots. I know I would. And they don't remind me so much of the 90s I must say because of the platform, rounded tow and shape of the heel.
