Shoes: yay or nay? #1

Velony, I LOVE this style of shoe but...I don't like these in particular. Maybe they'd look better on foot? Maybe it's the pic? They seem TOO heavy, or constructed, or maybe not well constructed. Ittybitty NAY

Thanks for Naying that shoe out of my head!
I just really like the 1/2 black/white shoes.

I ended up going over to Melbourne for the weekend and came home with another pair that I really love instead.

I'd be particularly interested in the opinions of Louboutin purists - what do you think of these? Patent red upper, cork platforms and trademark red soles. I think they're a nice summer Louboutin style but am wondering if there's too much red? They're on offer at Net-a-Porter.

Very nice - if you're worried about too much red have you seen the "Jefferson" slingbacks in the Browns sale - very nice!

Y

Hey fitnessqueen13, thanks for the feedback :flower:

I've seen the Jefferson slingbacks, I kinda liked them initially but they're not a classic-enough look for me as far as Louboutins go. I kinda like them, but I know a lot of people hate them and they're not Louboutin-enough for me if you know what I mean

I know what you mean about not being Louboutin enough I do love those red ones though - at the moment though I'm trying to not buy the type that I always get i.e. the "classics" and get the more quirky styles - I just ordered "short Tina"

Slingback peep-toe pumps can be quite lovely. But what about the ones in Post #11,008? I don't know how many things I've nay'ed in both this thread and the "Yay or Nay?" thread, but my nay streak is over as I'm Yay!-ing these pumps. I think these are very good. I've never hated cork shoes, so I'm not going to hate these. I don't think there's too much going on with the red. You know, compare these to an earlier pair of shoes I trashed with an outstanding nay. For some reason, I'd like them a little more if they were wedges. So I'm going to show some love to these.

I have red slingbacks very similar to these from a few years ago ( not CL's) and I wore them so much and they were so comfortable.. If you like attention you get from red shoes then YAY from me.. I love these!

Just some extra comments... I don't think I've ever seen cork pumps or sandals like those. I usually see cork wedges or even cork shoes with chunkier heels than the shoes mentioned in Post #11,008. There isn't too much going on to where I'd change my yay to a nay.

But do remember... it's all up to you, rosalynn. I would probably go get those, but then again, maybe I'd pass them up. It's all up to you.

Thanks for the replies, particularly leyla m. as I know you love your Louboutins and I was keen to see particularly what the purists thought, hehe. I'll probably buy these today as opinion is erring on the yay.

Thanks again, I really do appreciate the feedback.

They're not 'too red', but I'm tired of that chopped off toe profile. CL has done that same shoe in about 4,700 variations.

Maybe that's the problem, I love that profile which is why I can't stop buying them, haha :ermm:
