But then again I say, if we are rational beings we should control our instincts in favour of social and moral codes. On the other hand, I get your point and I believe that if someone like Jude Law puts his sexual instincts above his ethics he should at least have the decency of not getting married or engage on a serious relationship. He's got his own idea of being a sexually active male and for what I saw it doesn't quite match Sienna's or Sadie's perception of what a relationship should be. If he wants to have carefree sex he shouldn't put a ring on a girl's finger.
I absolutely agree with Nemova.

He wants to be a womanizer? Fine. Just don't start a family to later brake your wife's (and kids') heart by cheating on her with your co-star, and then get engaged with this very same co-star and later brake her heart by cheating on her with the nanny that takes care of your children, for Christ's sake!

Poor Sienna, I just saw an interview with her on TV and they asked her if Jude was anything like Alfie in real life, and she said something like "NO, thank God, for me!!". Unfortunately she was wrong.

Anyway this is why everyone should have open relationships. It is against human nature to stick with one partner so why fight it. It is immoral to make a vow to someone and then break it so neither party should make the vow in the first place. You can't have it both ways with a girlfriend or boyfriend on one hand and loads of lovers on the other. The world would be a lot calmer if people were more laid back and less posessive of their partners. After all, it is not necessarily intentional pain, it is just biology... survival even.

Though, wouldn't you also argue that it is also part of "natures plan" for women to remain with one partner. . .at least in the idea of men.

How do you think the whole institution of marriage even started? One man wanted to make sure that he children he was raising were his own, and that he wasn't busting his butt so that another mans genes could continue on. Women on the other hand wanted to make sure that these were his only children, and if not his only children then at least the ones he was working the hardest to provide for.

The whole reasoning behind sex is procreation, and it is very very very hardwired in both men and womens brain to have babies. . .even if outwardly we think that we don't want children. A man won't look at a woman and go "My, look at those hips and breasts! She'll bare me many fine children!" but he will look at them and be subtly attracted to them.

Humans are very very complex creatures, and mother nature has hardwired us in many different ways in order for us to survive many different situations. We can't argue one way or an other that it is our only primal instinct to do this one thing.

The most important thing is to find someone who is compatible to you. . .be it a serial monogamist or someone you can have an open relationship with.

Sienna Takes Off Jude's Engagement Ring

Sienna Miller, in London on Monday

For Sienna Miller on Monday night, the show went on – but can the same be said of her engagement to Jude Law?

Arriving for work in the London West End production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It with her flashy engagement ring missing from her left hand, Miller is spurring rumors that she has split with fiancé Law, who has publicly admitted to a steamy affair with his children’s nanny.

Despite personal drama, the 23-year-old actress – with two bodyguards at her side – arrived at Wyndham’s Theatre around 6:20 p.m., more than an hour before showtime, using a front entrance to outwit paparazzi gathered at the back.

Onstage, her voice seemed strained at times, but Miller remained poised through all three hours of the sold-out performance. The New York-born and classically trained Miller plays Celia, the cousin and friend of main character Rosalind.

Showing her skepticism about love, Celia professes to Rosalind (Helen McCrory:( "The oath of a lover is no stronger than the word of a tapster. They are both the confirmer of false reckonings."

After receiving a warm ovation during the curtain call, Miller smiled slightly and quickly wiped her face with both hands as she hurried off stage. Draped with a towel, she fled the theater without comment only minutes later.

This week’s Sunday Mirror first reported that Law, 32, and Daisy Wright, a 26-year-old au pair, had a steamy affair in March while Law was filming All the King's Men in New Orleans.

In an eye-opening statement that followed the story, Law expressed his "sincere regret" over the relationship, saying: "I am deeply ashamed and upset that I've hurt Sienna and the people most close to us. …There is no defense for my actions, which I sincerely regret and I ask that you respect our privacy at this very difficult time."

A representative for both Law and Miller tells PEOPLE that she has no comment beyond Law's statement.

According to reports, Law’s ex-wife Sadie Frost hired Wright. Law – named PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive last year – and Frost had been married from 1997 to 2003. They have three children.

Ick, poor Sienna. Jude trying to blame his cheating on her is horrid. He's such a loser.

Well let's not start on the reasons why the institution of marriage began... (as you say its in the idea of men. It's about man controlling woman, and trying to avoid her shagging some stud-ly for his genes and shacking up with 'Mr-I-Love-The-English-Patient' who will look after her and her child *cough). As meme527 says, it is a question of societal pressures and conventions which we are needing less and less in the 21st century and which in my idealised future will be merely the stuff of social history books. We live in a wonderful post-religious era... which is not to say I am a militant atheist, I am not even an atheist. I just think it is important to realise that much of religion, and thus much of our culture is ordered by rules set for a time that no longer exists. It is early days yet -I mean it is only a century since the suffragette movement began so there is a lot of residual crapness embedded in our social framework. I just think that people like Sienna Miller should stop trying so hard to be "the model girlfriend" and likewise lower their expectations of their knights in shining armour. Perhaps it's an unrealistic aim, but it will happen eventually. Jealousy is an awful emotion and can get in the way of what is otherwise called 'true love'.

And meme527, "ethical sluthood"? That is totally what I am advocating!!

siennainlondon you are advocating a more organic approach, but an 'ethical sluthood' although i despise that word, is no more utopian than the 'sacredness' of monogamy -- it is still a forced ideal. i'm speaking from observation after attending a free love commune type school, and it's 'relations' are just as messy, except instead of suppressing wanton tendencies, you suppress monogamous ones. as witchbaby has said, successful relationships have more to do w/ shared values than anything else. what floats one's boat doesn't float all. as long as the basis is respect and communication there is no need to advocate any ideal.

WOW!!!!! A philosophical discussion on Jude Law's love (or sex) life....:ninja:
COME ON guys!

By the way, if he is such a lousy jerk, then when he makes a pass on one of you, just say no! (I would like to see this happening!!!!   )

And what is your problem with the nanny....? What would you have done in her place????? :innocent:

Believe it or not some people don't find Jude Law in the least bit attractive, even before this whole scandal. Since I'm one of those people, I would definitely say 'no' if he made a pass at me.

And what is your problem with the nanny....? What would you have done in her place????? :innocent:

I would have done what was right. She is the NANNY of his children. Not his wh*re. She abused Sadie's trust, in the past, by sleeping with her husband and now she's doing the same thing, except this time abusing the trust of Sienna.

you guys are pretty severe, ouch! wh*re/ sl*t? every man or woman who cheats is a wh*re or a sl*t? they both should be hung in the gallows.

Uh....truthfully, I think I'd say no.

Personally, I don't find him highly attractive and I'd like to think that my morals and ethics are stronger than a supposed fine peice of a**.

Also,I'd know more than anyone, that karma will come back to get you.

So what are you saying? You would have sex with a man with a wife and kids just because he was good looking?

Yeah right guys.... I think you should all keep in mind that it's one story sitting at your computer and having opinions on whether you would sleep with Jude Law if he made a pass on you ( and judjing by the nanny, anyone is eligible  ) and completely different thing if it really happens....

anyway, I'm going to stick to my previous comment.... when you have the chance, just say no!:flower:

melt...there are many who would respond with a resounding NO... believe me..

"as long as the basis is respect and communication there is no need to advocate any ideal.."...

---well said, travolta...!

Not to mention that, for all we know, Sienna could be having affairs with the chaffeur, the gardening man and the windowcleaner.

The nanny was only the second day of the job...so she wasn't close yet to sadie or anyone for that matter. But i think sienna shouldn't forgive him because according to the nanny's words...jude even mentioned sienna and still just said "oh well" and in response to the nanny when she told him you've been a naughty naughty boy..all he did was laugh and say "i know,.i know" :yuk:
