Sienna Miller

Why don't u all wait and just watch the film and see if she can do it? I can't judge a film / an actress without seeing the film first :flower:

just my opinion

I like her style, but as an actress.... somehow she makes all her roles look the same. :)

Yeah I agree with you. I'm not sure about the trailer. Don't really know what to think about, I'll probably have to see the movie first. Well but I kind of really like Hayden Christensen. (He always used to be my reason to watch Star Wars )

For those of US who actually KNOW about Edie...we can already tell from the trailer Sienna is not doing her justice. :( She looks awful in this.

I agree -

sienna has great potential but it is still latent imo -
At the end when she is screaming at Andy it seems more like Edie - but apart from that it doesn't at all - She is talking Upwards, Edie spoke straight on - also they were unable to get the height thing figured out - she is too short for edie and i feel she hasn't embodyed Edie's soul, like Guy Pearce has. Her teeth are in the way when she talks unlike edie too. And she has a scratchy voice like she has a cold - Edie's voice was a hum and low --Their was a vapidness and vacant soul that Sienna hasn't captured - she seems more giddy than Edie was - Edie giggled but not excitedly and always as though
she was not completely there with someone

I dont think it would be an easy task for anyone - but it is really tough when you choose this type of role to say that you can't be exactly like someone and have it be the excuse for not getting the role right

Guy Pearce looks like he has Andy down pat - now i don't want to slag sienna off - but from reports, which yes may have been inacurrate, before each take she was running around excitidley (sp?) and didn't sound concentrated - apparently Guy was always in character - each to their own - but maybe in the future she could use that technique to help her

I do love the costumes though

my two cents

I know A LOT about Edie, and I disagree. I think no matter who was playing Edie, we'd all (as Edie fans) have something that we didn't like about the person. Whether it be accent, movement, not the right smile, not the right nose, etc. I think Sienna seems to have done a pretty good job. Anyone who has read up on Sienna knows that she spend A LOT of personal time researching for the role, and I really admire that. No one can play Edie perfectly, because Edie was so complex and unique. I think Sienna seems to be doing a good job, as good of a job as anybody could do. Only Edie herself could play Edie. Anyone else is just trying to play Edie, so I don't think anyone could find a better person to play her...

Also, if you think about it, Sienna and Edie have a lot in common. They both became famous for nothing really... They were beautiful girls associated with famous guys. But they both made a name for themselves breaking out and making a name for themselves in their own right.

I'm surprised. And a sidenote, all trailors are cheesy. They use every "cliche" line all compiled together (for example, even my favorite movie Lost In Translation has a cheesy trailor).. but this looks interesting. I think she actually does have the correct voice...and Guy looks so similar to Andy..wow.. Strangely enough, I'm worried about Hayden's portrayal of Dylan.. hahaha

He's playing a character loosely based on Dylan with a bit of Jagger and Morrison mixed in. His character's name is Billy Quinn. Bob Dylan is totally against this film being made. He's always denied most of his involvement with Edie.

^ my sentiments exactly hautefemme. I was pleasantly surprised at Sienna, esp the short clips where she's lashing out at Andy and her greeting him impishly. She's got some acting chops, or so it would seem. You can't expect her to nail it head on like Guy Pierce but I have to say I'm looking forward to the film. As much as I like Hayden, he didn't seem enigmatic enough... but it's early days yet.

Everyone bashed her for playing Edie but I KNEW she would be great.

Hear me now as I say she will get an Oscar nomination and win it in the end.

She doesnt play her, she IS Edie imo

everyone loves a knowitall. but seriously with Helen Mirren's stellar performance in The Queen, Weinstein will have to pull a Gwenyth for Sienna, and from all accounts he seems to be gunning it in that direction.

im an actress and if she wins an oscar for this, seriously im gonna take a flight wherever george clonney is, and try to woo him.

 Factory Girl looks like one fun movie to be able to be in,just like I Shot Andy Warhol did-in fact, the styling of both movies look similiar.....Sienna NEVER said she was Edie, she just said she did her best to portray her and had alot of LOVE for Edie-so let's give it a chance and see the finished film before we write her off.
Noone can magically turn themselves into the actual person they are trying to bring to life on film.
Everyone like Angelina Jolie's take on Gia but she wasn't spot-on herself!!!!Go look at video of the real Gia,look at photos-Angelina wasn't even close but Angelina brought her story to life and maybe Sienna can/will do the same with our Edie!!!!!!!:flower:

perhaps you guys should start a thread in the entertainment spot--if there isn't one already--about factory girl so that this thread can remain on the topic of sienna's style.... :flower:

all the factory girl discussion is a bit off topic...

Haha what does whoever she dates have to do with the film and her acting itself though?

so has anyone actually seen the film yet?

I have a good friend who is on the crew for Factory Girl and they are doing "re-shoots"
this week in CT. A new director was brought in, apparently, to help make the movie "flow better". for what it's worth.

i.e.: no one has seen the movie because it's not complete yet. Earlier screenings of what was finished got mixed reviews.

PS: we haven't seen any new pic. I think that's the reason for the topic change. If anyone has new photos post them and we'll certainly get back on topic.:flower:
