Simply Vera : Vera Wang for Kohl's

Personally I would prefer to buy designer's clothes on sale or even used than something from those cheap lines, as I value quality of garment and fabric. Patterns construction is also important though. I don't see any difference with noname stuff except the labels.

meliss, this line is not without its fabric issues, but you may wish to read further back in this thread for detailed analysis of Simply Vera's quality, construction, design, versatility, etc., if you haven't already studied them for yourself.

There's a reason that so many varied tFSers are fans of Simply Vera (hint: it's not because we're cheap :p ;)). I know quite a few of us who've bought it own main-line designer clothing as well.

Honestly, I really do not want or need people to say "OMG it's a ...". I want people to think that I look well put together, but mostly I want them to notice me, not my "OMG whatever." If you have a sense of personal style, the things you choose, no matter the label, all "look like you." I can think of a several people here this is true of, and I hope it's true of me as well.

Just checked out the website, I haven't looked since last month. Pretty much everything is new (to me), but I didn't see anything that rocked my world ... of course many things I saw before looked better in person. I'll definitely look again for spring ...

good points..
one of the things they were telling me about the skirt was "that's so you" which means that the look works for you and you really did something right imo ^_^

going to check out the website right now..

ok! looked through the stuff on the site and i hadn't really seen any of it before because i haven't been to kohls in a while..
looks like there are definitely slim pickings in terms of sizes though and i don't like to buy things online when i don't know how they'll fit..
especially when the sizing can be tough..

i'll see if i can make it over to kohls some time soon to check it out in person..
that's the only way to determine if the quality and fabrics are up to snuff..

But some of us can't afford designer's clothing, even if it's on sale. That's why it's nice that certain designers compromise and accommodate to us. ;)

I'll have to politely disagree with you on the quality issue, as this line is made with very nice and sturdy fabrics. I've worn my two Vera Wang for Kohl's shirts many times and have yet to notice any issues or flaws in the design.

I didn't want to sound too categorical, sorry.

so i went to khol's recently and i'm a big vera wang fan, but i was really disappointed by her clothes :(

^ I second that - right now the selection is mediocre at the majority of stores since it's mostly clearance items.

i just went to kohl's last night and saw some really nice pieces. they had this prada-esque cardigan in boh green and grey. on sale for 50%! i could imagine so many outfits with that

^ I guess every Kohl's is the same....
my local Kohl's looks just like that.....
everything jammed in as tight as can be.

the last kohls i went into was awful......no two alike of vera's garments were together and the clothes were just haphazardly jammed next to each other...it made me not want to even bother even trying to find my size...not that they would have any of my sizes...there is a shortage of 2,4,6,8 sized simply vera garments across the country according to wwd.

I never got a chance to check it out in person but the merchandising in those pictures is just plain awful. :yuk:

I'm going to try and check it out soon since there's new stuff and it probably won't get too picked over by the time I get over to Kohl's!

typically i remember the styling on the mannequins being good..
haven't been to kohl's in a while though..
i'll try to stop in but it seems like they wouldn't have my size from what lucy posted.. :ermm:

Really, those items are from the new collection? I saw many of the pieces in my local Kohl's over a month ago, and they were around 65% off.
