Simply Vera : Vera Wang for Kohl's

I love those O Mag pictures, its much easier for me to visualize how the clothes will look in real life. I'm loving alot of this collection, I hope the cuts and colors work out on me. Frankly I think there should be some designers that do lines that cost more then the Target Go lines but less then their full priced lines - its hard to find things in that range.

^ I agree ... that step down in pricing from contemporary. The pricing seems perfect--now to see it in person ...

I didn't get the Dorothy connection at all  I was far too busy scoping out the clothes. The quality looks pretty decent ...

I don't go in Kohl's very often, but I do remember they have several nice kitchenware brands at a discount, plus you may recall they have American Beauty and Flirt (I think it's called--exclusive Estee Lauder lines). To me it's not quite like any other discount store out there. Maybe it was the neighborhood I was in, but I got a very middle class impression from Kohl's (and I mean that in a good way ;))

I have marked Sept 9 on my calendar :p

i bet there will be an oprah episode with the vera wang for kohls items.

apaprently, the vera wang items will be in a special section of the store and have their own hangers and when you buy a garment it will come with a special bag.

^ Well, that is a nice touch ... if I get to keep the hanger, I'll be really impressed ^_^

i liked the oprah pictures -- i actually got a sense of what individual garments look like! some of the styling in the ads and press images kind of make it more difficult to actually see the clothes...

That's the great thing about getting fashion information from a non-fashion publication--they actually inform you ;) So many fashion editorials don't seem to intend to show you the clothes  O is actually pretty strong on fashion ...

Ok, so now I have to find the nearest Kohl's. I hope it's not too far.

I love paging through the O magazine when I'm in the waiting room. The fashion is good.

I like the outfit with puckered jacket and top. I'm intrigued. I never go into Kohl's, but I might for this.

Any idea on what the sizing will be like for these? I've never been to Kohl's so I don't know what their sizes are like or what numbers they go up to. Are these juniors sizes or normal ones? I can't quite tell.

I love that gold skirt and the short sleeved jacket as well - I could totally see myself going on a little spree with this collection. The prices seem really great.

i have never worn a garment from kohls. i dont think anyone knows what the sizing is like. from the oprah images i get the picture that the garments will be made in a large number of sizes.

^ My assumption was regular sizes, but I guess we'll see ... I'll have to look back in O and see if they say the size range. When they featured Bitten, the size range was on the cover!

I wouldn't think it would have that much to do with existing Kohl's sizing, but I could be wrong.

One of the things I found most intriguing is the relationship between this line and Vera's own personal style. Was it Vogue that featured her in their "tell us about your fall wardrobe plans" article? Anyway, what she's wearing in that photo & what one of the models in the ad is wearing--it's quite similar.

I think the Oprah spread mentioned that the items go up to size 16 (possibly more?).

A lot of these items (like the brocade coat) won't be available until October, either. I guess they're doing a staggered release.

I have a feeling the sizing will be another one of those situations where you have to try on each garment individually instead of just grabbing your typical size. I don't know for certain, but I assume the clothing will be women's sizes, not junior's, based off the Oprah feature.

what is kohl's like, anyway? sears? target? in-between?
Depending on the specific store, Kohl's can be better or worse than Target and Sears. I have found their clothes to generally be a decent deal, and to make things better they've got a large 50-75% off section in most stores.

Additionally, they have a large shoe and household supplies section, both with their share of good deals. I mainly go to Kohl's for their shoes, most of which are always on sale.

^ i like the kohls in my family's hometown -- it always has very good deals, it's generally more neat and less chaotic than target or sears. but it probably depends on how each individual store is managed, i imagine. it's very dependable in terms of sales, bargains and general household stuff. and i have to speak highly of kohls' beauty brands like good skin and grassroots. some of it is very good stuff.

I saw a pair of those Simply Vera purple satin flats with the rhinestones on them from the Oprah scans yesterday at Beacons Closet in Park Slope, Brooklyn for $25, brand new and in a size 8. Unfortunately, that is not my size and I didn't see anything else from the line there, but the flats were cute. If I were you, I would run over there ASAP if you want them. BTW, I am not offering to pick them up for anyone, this is just a heads up if you live in the area.
