Skincare products you recommend

I cleanse with Cetaphil (how original...but its fabulous!)
Tone with T.N.Dickinson's all natural Witch Hazel, moisturise with Clean & Clear oil-free skin balancing Moisturise, and every second night I use Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub. For spots I use the third step from the Proactive range, the Repairing Lotion.

I had terrible skin on my forehead to the point of never wanting to go outside (some people may remember me) but these products have just saved me. I have not one single spot.

1) Benzoyl peroxide, 5%. Its a bit abrasive for cheeks but its fine for the forehead. Fine? Perfect. After 2 months most of my spots had gone but because I squeezed (so much fun) I had lots of scarring and residual blackheads/small lumps on my forehead so:
2) Oil of Olay regenerist scrub. Dear god. Was any nicer product invented? I use it every morning in a hottish shower, i rub a 20p coin size amount over my forehead for about a minute or two. It heats up. The skin tingles. Afterwards you feel GLOWY. And it has been a month, 60% of my scars have gone and my skin feels soft, smooth, and not a breakout in sight.
3) Biotherm. Its the beige one, I can't be bothered to find the exact name. A small amount just glides over the skin. Its non greasy so I don't get breakouts...my skin never ever flakes (it used to get very dry) and it never ever feels tight (it used to feel very tight).

Maybe I should post some before and after photos, but those products saved me. I'm very grateful to them.

Things i´ve tried and loved:

This foolish, recurring misinformation about mineral oil and petrolatum is maddening. After all, crude oil is as natural as any other earth-derived substance. Moreover, lots of ingredients are derived from awful-sounding sources but are nevertheless benign and totally safe. Salt is a perfect example. Common table salt is sodium chloride, composed of sodium and chloride, but salt doesn't have the caustic properties of chloride (a form of chlorine) or the unstable explosiveness of sodium. In fact, it is a completely different compound with the harmful properties of neither of its components.

i agree with this..! i cant believe that something as simple as crude oil (a fossil fuel!) would be harmful to the skin. its absurd that people would put harsh benozyl peroxide on their skin but not vaseline.

by the way my number one skincare secret is... drinking lots of water

i also love dr. hauschka... and its much cheaper in Germany :P

The top 5 best skincare products

Hey Guys,

I had a talk with some friends over the weekend at a dinner party and discussed what night creams we were using to look our best. We all had something to share, so I compiled a list of the best skincare products, you know the crème de la crème( Pun intended, I bet you think I’m really corny now but hey, you only live once!) So here goes, in no particular order. If you’re low on funds or have an itchy credit card hand look away now because these are some of the most expensive products you can buy.

1 ReVive Intensite
2 Eraye anti-aging and skincare treatments
3 Cle de Peau beate la crème
4 Darphin Replenishing anti wrinkle creams
5 Orlane Hydro therapy cream

Any one of these really do an excellent job. Good luck

oohhh i tried clean and clears heating facial scrub, WOW! i dunno, i loved it. it has sugar in it, and this stuff in it that when you wet your face and dab it n, its like hot and it actually makes my pores smaller. the only bad thing is if you scrub for longer than like 30 or 40 seconds, your skin gets irritated, and you have to rinse really good, cuz you get this residue/moisturizer thing that i cannot stand! but im addicted to the hot feeling! is there any other products out there that offer the same thing?

Tatika, try the Olay Regenerist Daily Thermal Cleanser, as recommended above. It's meant to give the appearance of a mini peel with regular use, and I highly recommend it. I use it once a day in addition to a regular cleanser just to give me an extra deep clean. Rinse your face, apply the product, and you get that tingly sensation. When you wash it off, your face is soft and glowing. I haven't used it for that long so I can't say how much an impact it has had on scarring that I have, but overall effect is very pleasing.

what cleanser do you recommend that takes off sunblock and make up, but doesn't feel thick if you know what i mean. I need something for the summer hot days.

thanks

Vanilla_Lush, I would recommend Cetaphil as a good all round light cleanser. I think, however, that if you want a really deep clean that gets rid of all makeup and sunblock, you are going to have to use a thicker product. For this, I highly recommend the Eve Lom cleanser. It's an amazing product. Rub it in well and it gives a really deep clean and then the muslin cloth you use to take it off exfoliates and takes off all the cleanser. You won't be left with any residue. I read that Eve Lom herself recommends that you use the cleanser twice a day in summer, due to extra perspiration and buildup of dirt on your face.

What you can recommend for back acne? My facial complexion is pretty good since I love eating fruits and drink plenty of water. But I guess the acne goes onto my back...Since summer is here, that means time to wear the halter tops and tanks. What's the best way to get rid of that annoying pest?? I've tried exfoliating, applying creams, etc. But nothing seems to work. Help!

I have combination skin that can be prone to breakouts around my mouth and chin. I suffer from puffy skin and feel my skin is really congestged right now. Can anyone suggest a cleanser for me? I am currently using Chanel cleanser, not sure if it is helping though.

Would anyone suggest Eve Lom, can this really aid puffy skin and can it be used on skin that can breakout? :flower:

Things i love :
The whole Liz Earle range ,especially cleanse & polish .
Clearasil deep pore treamtent wash ( surprisingly did actually make my pores look fresher )
Avene thermal water ( in the can )
SK2 facial treatment mask and treatment essence .
Estee Lauder idealist serum & refinisher : absolutely brilliant !! :woot:

My mom buys La Mer (she's addicted to it) so I use some of that. I also use the L'oreal Happyderm set. It smells good and my skin's normal...well, its always normal but Happyderm moisturiser doesn't really dry out yoru skin and it smells so good I want to eat it.

I've recently switched up my skincare routine.

I'll add a guys routine for you:wink:

Olay's Anti Blemish Anti Aging cleanser - my skin is doing so well with this.
Jack Black Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer
Origin's Spot Remover
Kiehls Abysinne Eye Cream
Prada Bio Reviving Concentrate for Face - LOVE THIS!!!
Lush Ambrosia Shaving Cream

I'm thinking about switching some stuff, or adding some other treatment. I really want to find a good resurfacing treatment (Glycolic) that's affordable. I love Natura Bisses' but it's SOOOO expensive.

To Pinkpolo and Princess Coco: i used to have ill gross acne, so i know what congested skin and break out prone skin is. I found taht this GREAT product from this Website www.skintactix.com worked 100% for me I just cant gush enough about it. I stopped using it in march of 2005 and i kept clearing up, my the swelling caused by the severe acne went down, the scaring diminished. I know you dont have problems with that, but its super good for clearing up acne on any part of the body, and its a superb cleanser to decongest your skin. i love it, and sorry if i sound like a walking add. Hope this helps bot of you!:flower:

i cant help but to disagree. two nights ago i put on a sunless tanner that contains mineral oil , and i put the residue on my face, and i woke up the next morning with about 6 huge zitz on my face, hiding under my skin, and oh so sore. they still wont come up,and they hurt!
