Skincare products you recommend

ever thought of getting clinical grade glycolic on your back? from a dermatologist of course. I do that all the time, my backs scarry....then again a dermatologist will probably be able to treat the acne using some other means which should be your first step, instead of spending heaps of $$$ on products that are really maintenance factors at best.

I use the Shiseido White Lucent 3 step system (Cleanser, Softener and Moisturizer) and am very happy with it so far!

How has it changed your skin? ^_^

do any of you get a shade darker around the mouth? is there anything i could do and what is the reason, because it's so annoying. thanks.

^^^yah i agree...its the only place i have to put concealer on...i get it from the outside of my notstils down by the laugh lines...id love to know what can get that to go away, ive tried everything...damn hyperpigmentation!!!!

^^^okay vanilla lush, i think i may have an answer- i use this skincare product for my acne that has a glycolic exfoliator gel, and i started putting it around my mouth wher its darker, and ive seen a big change in the color, its prety much the same color as the rest of my face now- maybe what we need to do is do some sort of daily exfoliator to remove the skin in that area or something, i just just know it worked for me...

hmm Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant is a daily buffer type product designed to be used on specific zones after cleansing, maybe that could work as a light daily exfoliator?

I love it though, my daily ritual!

er nonono....I don't know if exfoliation will work, just in response to the post above me about daily exfoliators, and that product came to mind!!! haha

Never over-exfoliate the skin, it strips away the natural protective layers

not like microexfoliator, but like a chemical exfoliater, mine is glycolic exfoliator. I get mine from www.skintactix.com, but the mario bedescu website has a glycolic facewash that says it will get rid of skin discoloration...i hope this helps you vamilla lush!:flower:

hmm I used to use Murad's exfoliating blemish treatment gel, think its glycolic based that ive since only used on spots to lighten blemishes and pigmentation and even then sparingly, pretty good though and good strength!

Witch Hazel as a toner

All of ^^ those really help my skin. I sometimes rotate the cetaphil
in and out with the checks and balances when I feel like I need a
deeper cleaning:flower:
origins.com, philosophy.com, cetaphil.com

hey checks and balances!!!! I used to use that when I first started out!!! not bad, just left my skin a little too clean now that I think about it, other than that its a good product!!!

^^ that why I sometimes alternate with the cetaphil... oh and how could I forget my favorite moisturizer? Kiehl's sodium pca moisturizer... it's nice but not to heavy, and doesn't make you feel greasy at all^_^

Tatika, thanks for the advice! I see you're in Chi-town, what an awesome city!

oh it is it is pinkpolo, def. visit if you have the opportunity!

This lady at Holts gave me a free sample box of Zirh products - Clean, Correct, and Protect. I've been using them for the past couple days and my skin is noticably different.. it's a lot more smooth. When it runs out, I'm going to buy a full set. ^_^

Boots own cucumber exfoliator is great and is only £1.49. Body shop vitamin e moisturiser is also very good and rich. could someone please recommend me a (cheapish) product that will get rid of blackheads, exfoliating doesnt work on them thnks :flower:

^^ Chanelnumber5,whats been working on the blackhead on my nose, as before, is my glycolic exfoliator gel. I get mine from www.skintactix.com, but the Mario Bedescu website also has one. What i do is after i wash my face, ( i know its bad) ill GENTLY squeeze out excess buildup from the pores on my nose, and then i rub some gel in. If the blackheads are elsewear, DONT squeez, just rub the gel in, if you squeeze another part of you skin that isnt your nose,it may get infected; at least thats what happens to me, the minute i try to squeeze out a blackhead on my forehead,BAM HUGE zit...

so key is glycolic exfoliater gel/ also known as glycolic gel

^it's like a microdermabrasion (sp?). If you go to a sephora and ask a lady she'll make a sample for you to try before you would buy the whole bottle:wink:
