Stavros Niarchos, III

What's stereotypical? That he looks American?! Of course there's such a thing as looking European. Americans and Europeans look very different even if they're both Caucasian. It's not something you can describe but a sensation you get.

Exactly. You can't pinpoint it. That's like saying "Oh, you look Jewish because you have bushy eyebrows and curly hair. Shalommmm!" How myopic of you.

I've never been able to distinguish between a white person from America and one from Europe until they speak and I hear an accent. White Americans are descendents of Europeans. The only difference between them are cultural and geographical. Some actors I thought were American until I heard them speak-- Colin Farrell, Hugh Jackman, Mel Gibson, Pierce Brosnan, Christian Bale..etc.

Thank you. THANK YOU! It has NOTHING to do with how someone looks. You can only tell that they're European when they have the slightest hint of an accent.:flower:

They split in May and reconnected – temporarily – in July, but Paris Hilton and Stavros Niarchos certainly seemed back on at the South Beach, Fla., nightclub Ink on Friday night.

Hilton, 25, and Niarchos met up around 1 a.m. with Hilton's pal Brandon Davis and sister Nicky Hilton (who earlier hit Andy Roddick's charity celebrity poker tournament at Hard Rock Live), but only had eyes for each other when the DJ played Billy Idol's "Mony Mony" and Hilton treated the Greek shipping heir to a lap dance.

The group later moved on to the club Mokai in Miami Beach, where Niarchos joined Hilton on the dance floor, at one point even lifting her up and spinning her around on his shoulder.

Their night hit a snag at around 3:15, when the pair stepped outside and briefly argued about their plans (Niarchos wanted to leave but Hilton didn't – plus the barefoot heiress had left her shoes inside the club). But Niarchos apparently won out.

So what's the story with Niarchos and Hilton, who was recently photographed with a diamond on her ring finger? Her rep, Elliot Mintz, tells PEOPLE, "Paris is not engaged. She does wear rings on different hands and fingers and depending on what's comfortable, but she is not engaged."

Still, a source close to Hilton tells PEOPLE, "Not only are she and Stavros) together, but they are in love."

I think you need to get off your 'politically correct' chair.

Nicolette Sheridan def. looks American. So does Reese Witherspoon and Paris Hilton. Maybe you just lack that ability to see the difference.

I spoke to this girl who went to college with him in Honolulu, and according to her he is not only handsome and sexy, but a really nice guy too. B)

You can't just say that someone looks american. There are so many different races and cultures mixed together in USA, you know. Beeing blonde and blue-eyed is really more scandinavian than anything else.

 I think you should stop making stereotypical claims before posting on a forum for all to see.

tfs isn't really the place to be discussing race related issues..

also, i do not think it is rude to say that such and such person looks European or American or else. I do not know whehter it is an american thing, but here in Europe people may say that someone looks Asian, for instance, and noone is offended by it.
sometimes you see a guy which reminds you of someone you know who is cuban, for instance, and automatically think he could be cuban too.
Stavros looks very European, Greek to me and i say so as he reminds me of a friend of mine whose parents are Greek (it must be the nose...)

i had so many people saying that I look Cuban, Argentinian, mixed race......I actually like the fact that some of my features may look distictive to a specific population and that people take the time to figure me out
