Style My Hair

Trendy cuts for Fall?

I need an incredible change in my hair before back to school, and I want a trendy, new look. My hair is long, brown, straight, and smooth. I want a trendy medium/long length look. I'm so picky when it comes to new styles that I need as much help as I can get! Love to you much for the help!

I think with hair cuts, it's more important to choose one that compliments your face shape rather than what's trendy. If you have an oval face shape (any style is complimentary) I would go with a choppy look. They could razor it for you but you would have to be willing to grow it out for a while if you wanted a change afterwards. Curls are going to be big for fall so you might just want to keep your current style and sacrifice some time once in a while to curl your hair. Since you said you wanted an incredible change, I know an awesome style some younger people are doing is the faux mohawk. I don't think you need a special cut, it's more in the styling. I know you're thinking "mohawk, ew" and I thought the same thing, but it's a more stylish, sexy look. I've been looking for some pictures, if I can find one I'll post it. Sorry I couldn't help more :)

Are you thinking of a cut or a color? If you're considering a color, you might want to try a brown/red color highlight. I did it like a year ago, and I really, really love it. Its different, but still subtle, and certainly a departure from the thick blonde highlights that are everywhere.

Help w/ hair style!

i think some kind of matte texture paste would work, but i'm not really sure.....any suggestions of good brands and products that get the messy textured effect, and how to use them? thanks so much!!! ~joe

I'd say if you already have longer hair go to a stylist with this picture and ask to get the same cut. he'll also give you products that make the hair messy like an out of bed look. good luck :)

Highlighting, foiling techniques.Help

Hello!

I am getting my hair done tomorrow. getting ready for the fall time.. I have blonde hair now (dyed) naturally brown hair. Well I am going to go with 3 shades in my hair this time to add some dimension to it (sticking to the blondes and browns)

My question is.. I always get my hair weaved or sliced for the color and I guess I am bored of how they are doing the weaving and everything.. It always seems to just blend in.. I do not like the thick chunks either. Does anyone know of any other good techniques you had done to your hair. Also I tried searching online for foiling techniques, hightlighting techniques and can't find anything, anyone know where I could find some pictures and articles of techniques?

THANKS!

I personally have never had my hair coloured professionally before, so I really couldn't tell you. The best thing would probably be to consult your hair stylist about it...talk about different techniques/possibilities...look through the hair magazines they have there. Perhaps ring up and ask if you can go an hour early to have a quick chat first and sit and look through the mags they have there until your appointment.
