I found these old sunglasses, which belong to my Mum. She's had them for nearly 30 years and we are certain they are not by any particular designer.....but does anyone know, if they have been inspired by anyone?

I know Stella McCartney designed some similar sunglasses for Chloe with a single diamante heart in 1999/2000, but considering these are nearly 30 years old...any ideas who made similar ones around that time or before?

Thanks in advance:flower:

The hawkings are a great aviator! You'll stand out in a good way with those, but how do the interchangeable lenses look?

indian rose, they seem like normal hippy sunglasses to me!

I do like Tom Ford sunglasses but like I said before, the quality for me really isn't there. I still want a pair of basic rayban's.

but how do the interchangeable lenses look?

not too good to be honest. First, you don't have the small plastic frame you have around the original lenses. And i don't really like the color it's half light grey, half "neutral". They really lack of something without the original lenses imo

Does anyone know if it's possible to get scratches buffed out of sunglasses lenses? Both my glasses have some noticable scratches on them but i'm not sure if this is possible or if it is, where I could get it done....

^i think it depends on the material they used to make your lenses. My hawkings have a little scratch on one lense and it can not be removed apparently, regarding to the material they used.

will try to find a picture ASAP, but does anyone remember ashleys aviators a while back, when she was wearing all black and a balenciaga i think they are dior maybe? mens? but I cant remember the style name? can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Any idea what these are on A.J.? (Or for that matter can you find a reasonable facsimile?)

Could u please source that picture it's tFS policy
thanks =)

lol... it's been a long time since I was here... sorry, forgot!

thanks frenchie - where did you ask about fixing it? An optical store or ?

I think AJ's might be Prada. Check around NAP, I've seen some similar styles there

meg- I'm thinking of just getting ray-ban's too, mostly because they're a loooot cheaper than the tom fords!

Same here. I'm thinking of getting a pair of golden ones with black glass, classic but with and exclusive flair. Those Tom Ford shades do look smashing though and I badly want those or a pair of similar DH shades. Still I'm not ready to spend that much on a pair of glasses.

Omg I knew I wanted these sunglasses as soon as I saw them but now i've had a closer look at them and I am actually desperate for them - I usually get a new pair of sunglasses for summer but if these are coming out for winter - I'm saving my money!
I absolutely adore these:

aha those make me think of 'futuristic' glasses in films. I bet if you did a bit of searching around ebay you could find something like it.

Luxx - I sent you karma about it, and I'm sure you know this, but the sunglasses Aggy is wearing are the Lanvin Wayshiner. That's what I meant when I said they look a bit clownish, like the big clown sunglasses you can find at novelty shops. But that pic of them on Aggy (and the Grey Ant ones which are ripping off the style) are kind of winning me over. I tried them on and the girls I was with thought they were cool, but again, the clown thing. Not sure. It sucks because the Key West which I wanted are hard to find but I could order the wayshiner from Shopbop (they are out of the keywest now I guess)....hmmm decisions

As for the Ray Ban debate, I think the TF ones look cool, but I love the classic raybans. No one does the shape as nicely as they do. And everywhere I go I complain about the quality of my Tom Ford sunnies so I would stick with rayban
