Don't Change the Channel
My inspiration for this challenge actualy came from a similar one that we did last season. The reason i remember it so clearly was because it was the first (and only
) time that Daria was in the bottom 2.
) time that Daria was in the bottom 2.
It was right before the Oscars. The judges gave us a list of 5 of the nominated films. They told us to pick 3 and to find a picture to represent each of them. It wasn't just about showing them a photo of the model with a monkey and calling it King Kong. It was about getting the mood accross and telling a story through the shot. Remember the phrase, "a picture is worth a thousand words".
This version is different. For example, instead of 3 pictures, we only want you to find 1. Also, we aren't going to be using movies, but instead TV shows. We think this would be a bit more fun
Last, but not least, you will not get to choose what show you are going to represent. This will be up to the judges. The reason for this is because we want to see more of a varitey. Nobody will have the same show, and it will be alot more interesting to see.

On Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar played the role of Buffy Summers, a teenage vampire slayer who just wishes that she could live a normal life. One that didn't involve saving the world on a daily basis. Buffy was an incredibly strong character. She showed girls that they can be powerful and in control. Although the basic premise of the show may seem a bit silly to some, the message that it ultimately was trying to give was not. Life can suck. Sometimes you have to do things that you really don't want to do, even if it will really benifit you. You can either complain and make a fuss or you can take the high road, look it straight in the eye and give it all you got!! THAT is why Buffy kicked ***. Figuratively, as well as literaly
She realized that she had a duty and that complaining doesn't make that go away! She took it all in and became a bigger person in the end. In the picture below, Daria shows us that you do not mess with her. She is a woman who does not care what other people think. She is who she is and she will make no apologies. That is who Buffy is and that is why i think this is a great picture!!!

I randomly gave each model a number between 1 and 9, and Yogini did the same for the 9 televsion shows that we picked. She sent them to me and I just matched up the numbers to make the final list, which you will see right below this paragraph. This way, it is completely fair.

Some of you may have never seen an episode of the show that you have been paired with. That's where imdb.com and google will come in handy. With a little bit of research, you can get a basic idea of the premise of your show, and get a basic idea of what you are working with. We aren't expecting you to know every episode word for word, just give us a brief paragraph of the mood and how your pictures represents that.
You have three days to complete this challenge. All entries are due by Monday, May 29, 2006 at 8PM GMT.
oolie-coco, as winner of the last challenge, you may use any picture that you would like for this challenge. the rest of you may only use editorial shots and covers.
Good luck Everybody! You all better WORK IT!!!
