T.I Arrested

This past Saturday could’ve been a really good day for rapper T.I. He was scheduled to perform at the 2nd annual BET Hip-Hop Awards, and was nominated in nine categories. Instead, he went to jail.
T.I. liked guns a little too much, it seems. And when he took delivery of three illegal machine guns and two silencers at an Atlanta shopping plaza parking lot, the ATF were all over him.
Reportedly, he already has a record with the Feds, after being arrested back in 1998 for violating the Georgia Controlled Substance Act. And US Attorney David E. Nahmias told press that they got him just in time.
“This convicted felon allegedly was trying to add several machine guns to an already large and entirely illegal arsenal of guns. Thanks to the good and quick work of ATF, he is now in custody and his firearms have been seized.”
Apparently it was T.I.’s bodyguard that turned him in. The rapper’s employee was caught buying the guns for him, and agreed to lead authorities to him when he arranged to deliver the guns.
According to Nahmias, “Harris then agreed to meet and took possession of the machine guns this afternoon. He now faces serious federal charges and a potentially long prison sentence.”

That's interesting. Oh well, poor thing him. And I think it is more stupid and defiant than ignorant because he should have known of the laws there.

T.I. was arrested Saturday on weapons charges after his bodyguard was caught trying to buy machine guns and silencers for him. The arrest happened hours before T.I. was scheduled to perform at the BET Hip-Hop Awards and ended up winning two awards. Authorities say the investigation began this month when the bodyguard tried to purchase unregistered guns from an undercover ATF agent. Police searched T.I.’s home and found rifles, pistols and a revolver; five of the guns were loaded.

T.I. was in an Atlanta court today to plead not guilty to federal weapons charges. The rapper was arrested earlier this week and has been in jail since Saturday. Lawyers for T.I. asked for bail and offered a US$2.2-million bond but the judge denied the request. Unfortunately for T.I., he was ordered to remain in jail until next Friday.
