Tattoos

jadedomega I absolutely love it, so cool!

I used to think Chinese character tattoos were cool, but they're so common that I think I would stray from that idea if I decided I wanted one. I would definitely have to put more thought in it, and have something that actually meant something to me. Like I said, an Irish symbol or something.

Sephora I had virtually no pain behind my ear or on my foot. I think that thing about bony areas hurting more is actually just bull. If you pinch your wrist and then your upperarm, your upperarm will hut more because there are more nerve endings in the fatty areas.

First Tattoo!

Hey this is a photo of my tattoo i got when I visited california 2 weeks ago! Its been about a month now but this is fresh picture(it was a day old)...

it really didnt hurt at all...

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on the wrist on my foot, like kelly osbourne has, but I'm not sure about what symbol/picture would look good.
any suggestions?

my tattoo!

I got my tattoo 3 years ago. I love it so much still. He has a lot of meaning to me. It is kanji for 'love'. I believe that love is what should be behind everything I do.
It took me a year to decide what to get. I think it is important to think well what you want because you dont want to be stuck with something you might regret in the long run. After deciding if I should get a tattoo for a year, I picked what I wanted and then I waited 6 months and asked myself if I still wanted it.
and I did

I want to get another one, but I havent found anything I like yet.

i have 2 tatoos. One on my wrist, its says HOPE and a tribal heart near my waist. I love tatoos, especially ones that mean something to me. I plan on adding onto my heart tatoos sometime this year. The next tatoo i want is a quote on my back along my waist line.

lmelanie, i love your star tatoo, i was thinking about getting one on my wrist. It looks awesome!

Love some of the tattoos in here. :)

I have the cover art from Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein across the top of my back, have had it for about 8 yrs now. Also along the sides/folds of my ears, I have arabic writing :flower:

I don't know if you've already gotten it done or not, but the tattoo place should have a book on font sizes. That's what I did. Just a thought :flower:

thanks, i thought that too, but I ended up doing one myself, since my drawing skills are good! :p

A friend of mine's most recent tattoo is of a skull with a bow on its head inside her mouth (on her lower lip). I like the idea of having a tattoo that isn't too obvious, and was quite fond of this idea, although it would be a very concealed place to have one.

I want to get one that says Russia in Russian/Cyrillic little tiny on the inside of my arm below my elbow like: Россия but I would only have it done in Russia so it could have some story behind it.
My boyfriend's brother has one on the inside of his upper arm, it is of a character from Greek mythology it isn't like a fancy picture of one of the Gods its almost like a petroglyph it is really neat.
Gosh those are both horrible descriptions, I'm not too good with words today.

I am planning to get my first tat for my birthday in about a month. I looked through this thread and I wanna know what you guys think.

idea 1: Hawaiian islands (like a silhouette of the state map) maybe 3" big just inside my hipbone on the front. Like when you have a bikini on you see it, when you have jeans on you don't.

idea 2: Something more personal like a hand of g-d or other religious symbol of something meaningful to me written in hebrew (I just haven't decided what yet! ) If it's the hand then on the back of my neck or between my shoulder blades because it's a symbol of protection. If it's something else, then maybe somewhere else, I would have to decide based on what . . .

Thanks for any opinions!:flower:

BTW, I know it's not allowed to tattoo your body if you're jewish but I'm reformed, not orthodox and I want to so I don't care!:p

Sounds like you've been watching Miami Ink.

Both of the tattoos you want were seen on the show. The Hawaiian islands tattoo was placed on a guy who is from Oahu, born and raised. While the Hamsa, or as you call it The Hand of God, was placed on a woman's foot.

I have the Hamsa tattooed (had it done four years ago) between my shoulder blades. This symbol means a lot to me and has been apart of my life for as long as I can remember. In fact, I have various Hamsa symbols all over my house.

Before you get this meaningful symbol, you should really do your research about this tattoo -- it's true meaning, history, and so forth. Just because you saw it on tv and thought it was cool is extremely unoriginal. Don't copy someone else's personal symbol, such as the Hawaiian Islands, which I'm guessing you're not even from, as well as the Hamsa. Find something that actually means something to you and has a deep meaningful connection, and/or story that has some significance in your life.

Persephone G. a lot of different tattoos are on Miami Ink. If I got a cross, is it because I'm copying it from Miami Ink? No, highly I doubt it. I don't think it's safe to assume without saying that the ones pinksatin want are because of the show. Maybe they are personal to her, you don't know that they aren't.

What do people think of the rosary around Nicole Richie's ankle. I think it is lovely whenever I see photos of her in flats but it must make wearing angle straps difficult, no?
