Tattoos

I just got my tattoo today! :woot: Two intertwined hearts on the back of my neck. It's simple and maybe cliched, but it means something to me.

My next one will probably be done in a couple of weeks (end of Jan.) Im waiting for a friend to come up so we can do them together.

Mine will be on the inside of my left forearm. I have a couple of others that I want to do, but maybe later.

lol little bit of mine

I got a new one done last week. I black/gray Fleur de Lys on my right forearm (inner part)

Its great!! He managed to make the gray look almost silver, so it really looks like its made out of metal or something.

Ill have to take a picture now thats its almost fully healed.

^^Ha! My sister has that same tattoo on her inside wrist. :ninja:

I dont have any, I cant think about having tattoos when I'm like, sixty.

I struggled with that too.

But then I thought...who cares. My mother is in her 60s and she is funky and does what she wants and doesnt care what people say, and she is happy.

She rides a Harley Davidson:lol:

And then I look at people like Henry Rollins who is older, and still looks good even with them.

Plus I think...when Im older, I'll have other things to worry about (like sagging skin. loss of hair, gray hair, heart disease, blood pressure etc). Tattoos will be the least of my worries.

I love swallow tattoos!! Like siennas! Looks lovely. Im doing 2 swallow around a tattoo that I already have on my wrist. xxx then ill post xx

I like your little swallow also, Roxy.

A friend of mine wants to get a Harry Potter tattoo (she already has the Boston Red Sox 'B' on her hip and four tiny stars on one foot). I don't think she'd go for the Death Eaters' forearm snake nor Harry's forehead lightning bolt, both which would be funny but extremely inadvisable. This could turn out interesting... I should probably be a good friend and step in to stop this from happening but I'm so amused by the idea that she might actually do it. I've got a moral conundrum on my hands, for sure.

What about a little wand shooting off a couple of stars? I think that would be really cute. Or an owl perhaps? Just something not so blatantly Harry Potter, and something that could have more than one meaning.

I think an owl would be GREAT. I don't know what my friend will want but now I myself am considering a little owl because I think they're lovely and I'm very nocturnal. Actually, "insomniac" is the term when applied to humans... But thanks for suggesting it!

Im getting 2 swallows on my wrist..
And now i see someone here with also one on her wrist lol.

Wanted something what stands for the kids of my brother, like stars but already have one so had to think of something else.

This will be my fourth.
Had one on my other arm, got that covered with another, my right underarm is almost covered.

And a small star above my ankle, got that with my best friend

ok guys i'm having my first laser session in 2 days!
anybody did laser before??

am kinda scared it d hurt!!!

i know this is the most common question you get but. . Did it hurt?

:ermm: :ninja:

I have a few tattoos. You cant see them on my avi pic, coz of the axle grease fake tan. Back job, dragon & a tiger (colored & shaded), which i nearly fell asleep having done.
On my front is a Samurai on a horse, outline only, this was a little more painful...in fact stung like hell.:woot: Especially around the stomach area.
Arms are generally pretty comfortable...
Of course how painful, is depending on your own tolerances to pain.
The body does release its own chemicals etc, to deal with pain.

how do people go about finding places to get them done? that might be a silly question but when i get mine done i'd like it to be done at some what of a nice place.

A decent , talented tattooist is considered as much an artist as ...well anything else...painter, sculpture etc.
There are tattoo conventions, where his/her reputation can be sourced quite easily.
Start by searching tattooists in the areas your willing to travel to.
Research tattooists on the net.
He/she will have a portfolio of past work, which you can browse.(Actual photos!)
Talk to previous clients...and look at how well the design has been done.
Maybe even contact health department, to find out if a particular artist has been in breach of any health parameters.
If you see someone with a design you like, ask where they had it done.

Yeah, getting a tattoo is something you'll need to research, otherwise you might not be too happy with the results. :ninja: Spend time looking at websites of tattoo artists in your area (or places you are willing to travel to for a really good tattoo). Make sure to see a portfolio of their work, and depending on what type of tattoo you're getting, make sure the artist has experience doing that type of tattoo (portrait, text, traditional, Asian, animals, etc). Also make sure, when you visit and make an appointment, that their facilities are clean, that their needles and everything else is sterile, and also have a look if you can at some of the work other tattoo artists are doing in the studio to see if the place looks reliable and that the work is good quality. :flower:

Guys I'm addicted to tattoos and piercings, I have three piercings but I wanna do tattoos on the future, does it hurt a lot, or it's just a myth?
