Taylor Swift & Jake Gyllenhaal: New Couple Alert?!

They could be just friends, I like both of them, so if they dated it won't upset me, Jake seems like a decent guy, but on other boards, people are claiming that he is really gay, and he is using her as a beard...I was surprised to find out she actually dated John Mayer, I thought it was just a rumor.

They never dated. And that has been confirmed with the Daily Mail. She said she's only been in 3 real relationships. One was Taylor's first boyfriend when she was about 15. The second and third were with Joe Jonas and Taylor Lautner [respectively].

I think Taylor was crushing on John Mayer and he played her. Nothing more. Nothing less.

And Taylor and Jake are a publicity stunt (more-so for his film than her album).

^Only three men? So most of her songs are about men she hasn't actually dated? Well, that actually kind of makes sense...ish...

She's not including the guys she went on casual dates with. A lot of the guys who have inspired songs, Taylor only went on 2-3 dates with them.

She writes a song about these boys after 3 dates. She is the most asexual 21 year old I have seen

Whaaaaaat??? I hope this is not true....what´s next... Sandra Bullock dating Justin Bieber???? :(

^Or Taylor Swift dating Kanye West. I'm sure she'll have a lot more to write about.

She is this generation's Debbie Gibson, who wrote her uber cheesy love songs after grilling her older sister's return from her dates. Or Taylor could be hooking up with multiple men down-low. You know its the fake innocent ones we have to watch out for.

I'm a bit grossed out by the age difference ,not so shocked about anything else.Don't think it's true, tho

You guys are being so mean to her. She's a young girl. It's what young girls of the 21st Century do: talk about boyfriends. And she's talented. Sure her music is mostly mainstream garbage but she's a good country musician and to be honest I think she's too good for Jake Gyllenhal; he's a weirdo.

i just gotta say this; that Ellen video is so funny  and it's kinda cute how she's so awkward throughout
the interview  but on the topic itself i agree with Squizree; i find Taylor too good for Jake. when i see
Jake all i can think of is how he freakishly resembles Woody from Toy Story :ninja:

As a fan of Taylor, I can tell you the way she's acting in that video is her trademark. Whenever she's forced to address some dating rumor she gets quiet, looks at her ring, plays with her dress, etc. Its fake and it annoys the hell out of me. She never does it when she's legitimately dating the person or if she's single and there's no rumor. In those cases, she's very straight forward.

Thus the reason I call this relationship a showmance.

Also, that particular segment of the interview seemed incredibly scripted.

She did the exact same thing when she was last on the Ellen show and Ellen asked her about Taylor Lautner and them two were actually dating so for all we know she could be with Jake for real..

I actually don't believe they legit dated. Yes, I've heard Back To December but whatever. That's a debate for another day.

That Ellen video is hilarious  I honestly can't tell if she's really all that awkward or if it was 'staged', since talk show hosts are usually told what subjects they're not allowed to talk about, right?
Either way, if I was her I'd probably go on dates with all these people too. Even if they turn out to be boring losers, I guess you can't blame a young woman for wanting to hang out with all her celebrity crushes

 I think she's adorable. She reminds me of Hello Kitty for some reason.

Haha, it's all very amusing. I'm not bothered by who Taylor is or isn't dating. She definitely knows how to max out her appeal with the cutesy innocent act. A huge part of her success is her marketability with her looks and being at the right place at the right time (in the age of Youtube/myspace/fb/twitter) that makes up for her subpar voice and lyrics. Since tweens are still a powerful consumer group, they eat up the whole puppy love songs and adore that she's gracious/relatable to her fans (via social networking sites).
