Teen Vogue September 2008 : Vanessa Hudgens by Richard Bush

Oh, Teen Vogue. I loved you so much when you just started out. Vogue US would scare me with its lobotomised socialites and general "You-know-this-is-nothing-like-you-but-you-suck-it-up-anyway-don't-you-because-it's-Vogue beyotch!" air. But you! You were such a little budding fashionista, featuring all the cool and upcoming names and making it accessible. Yes, I could totally wear that Balenciaga sandal and not look like I had escaped from the circus. Or I could make a cheaper version with some scissors, glue and some old "vintage" black and white boots from the 60s.

You put Gemma Ward on your cover!

I should have known things would have fallen to this when you had that Joy Bryant chick on your cover that one time :ninja:.

IA. It's turning into some second-rate Seventeen magazine. :judge: Whatever happened to this? :ninja:

i hate her.i hate her hypocritical interview and her talentless smug mug.what a bad choice.

I don't know her but the cover is awful, the hair, the pink overload= bad.

It makes me think to an 80's cover for a second rate fashion magazine. Hopefullly, eds will be better

Vanessa Hudgens is the September 2008 cover girl for Teen Vogue. Here are some choice quotes from her interview:
On graduating from the High School Musical franchise: “It’s sad. This is our last time doing a movie together, and we love each other so much. We really grew up together. We can be free when we’re around one another, and the amount of fun we have is ridiculous.”
On her personal love life with Zac Efron: “I keep my relationship quiet. I think that works.”
On her style matching the ease of her California upbringing: “I like putting things together that you would not expect. It’s always me.”
On proceeding with extreme caution in choosing her next project: “I don’t want to do something that messes me up mentally. I think people just don’t realize that sometimes actors can really take it in and become that person.”
On being extremely proud of her HSM character: “I love that Gabriella is Hispanic. It’s nice to be able to stand up for people who don’t have someone to look up to very often.”
The September 2008 issue of Teen Vogue is on sale nationwide Tuesday, August 5.

i so want to see this ....
i used to buy teen vogue once in a while some 2-3 yrs ago ... guess i'm gonna buy this one ...

thanks tomford4gucci ....

never heard of this girl on cover, though ....

Hyoni's editorial is really cute, in the formulaic Teen Vogue jumping / runway look way, Jac is really gorgeous and left me wondering "who is that girl?" (and IMG is clearly positioning this girl for big things, building her editorials up slowly but surely), and Heloise's editorial is short but very sweet-- she is so charming and is very well cast in this story! Viktoriya at Women also has a beauty editorial by Raymond Meier, featuring the makeup of Pat McGrath and hair by Julien D'ys.

Vanessa Hudgens is the star of the Disney franchise High School Musical. She sings and dances to cheesy songs. The series is huge with preteen though for some crazy reason. So lately Vanessa and her costars have been everywhere.

So Berlin you are very lucky to have never heard of her.

This is my last Teen Vogue issue until they start making a new issue. It's the same jumping, stupid clueless smile on face, wide eyed, hands in the air randomly poses and eclectic styling that we saw last issue, and the issue before that, and the issue before that. I really don't want to sound like a complainer but it's time they start giving us a reason to pay 3 bucks a pop for their dull, overdone magazine.
