Does anyone have any recommendations for fashion illustration books? Like books that teach you specifically about drawing the clothes, and people for fashion. Thank you

My all-time fave fashion illustration book is 9 Heads. It's a bit pricey, but totally worth it.

It's mostly about understanding the basic fashion figure, how to render details like hair, eyes, etc, and how to add clothing to the figure. It's a pretty comprehensive book. Hope it helps!

Thank you The book sounds great for learning. I was also thinking about buying these other books for learning about drawing the figures, etc. I heard they were pretty good, but does anyone here have their own input? thank you

I've used the Stipelman book and a number of books done by the person who illustrates the fashion sketchbook. They'll both work but are of course in the style of the artist who does them. Look through books to find a style that you like if it's important to you. All the books talk about the nine-head fashion figure and various techniques... once you've got a handle on proportion you'll be able to draw all sorts of fashion figures that look great. Just follow the formula. Then add your own ideas to it. I've also done excercises from books on how to draw comic book characters. A little technique and a lot of experimentation. The good news is if you follow the formula, anyone can do it and make it look nice. It's not Leonardo Da Vinci stuff, have fun

Agreed. I cant give up, no matter how many sheets of paper I use to start over. Which may be 45435 pieces

Seth C., I don't know where the pose is from, I just drew it! I think I did a good job on her legs and hands through the right elbow looks a little wonky so the arms seem like slightly different lengths... but she's pretty cute overall

Elegance, I did this one in pencil crayon. Usually it looks a little fussy but this time I think the fussiness worked

^ i love your illustrations and i love the legs, i think its very hard to get long thin legs like that in my illustrations without having to change the neck face etc...you probably dont know what im talking about it but you did it
