@Barbaraa: Having few items it not my goal per se either. But I only want things that I love and actually wear. In the past year I have noticed that too many things around me does not feel good. Messy soroundings makes the inside of my head messy as well. Therefore I prefer decluttering. Not only as far as my wardrobe is concerned but also about everything else. Therefore I have never had space issues regarding my wardrobe.

@Jina: Congrats! I say buy the heels to celebrate, if they are within your current budget

@Ta-ta: looking forward to hear your thoughts on the pants once you have worn them. The styling ideas sounds great. I will have to find that article. Sounds intriuging.

I will most definitely get them in a week or so, just waiting for some discount code (it's a sin to order anything from Yoox without it, since codes are sent in the mail so often tbh).
Shoes will probably be a graduation gift from my mum and I already have quite a lot opportunities to wear them in the following weeks.
For a graduation ceremony I might wear them with organza dress I bought last spring in London or with Lanvin x H&M dress (yes, I have many combinations in mind already ).

Eva, I too am 23 and I keep pieces I've had since I was 15, 16 (if you see my pinterest, there are quite some items from 2006). I even have a piece from ten years ago They're in good condition and still make sense to me, in my life and in my wardrobe... Of course some pieces had to go for several reasons, including being too "young" for my current life, but if they still serve a purpose, I don't see anything wrong in keeping them!

And I like the recommendations pinterest boards I'm not so good at recommending but I love seeing what you all have been doing in those. I'm going to make one for me. My budget is definitely more limited than most of yours, but I welcome inspirational pins

I'd feel silly to reccomend a pink pony if you want a bike Perhaps I am just to practical and you want pink pony suggestions?

I think the only clothes I have from when I was a young teenager (13-14) are my dresses. Just as well, I wouldn't be able to fit into any clothes from that period. I sort of outgrew my boyish figure at some point:inncent:

• Tops, especially a long sleeved silk blouse

• and everything in my color scheme mustard, burgundy, teal, turquoise plus neutrals grey, camel, cognac, white, navy.

Thank you, RedandNavy I like to think that, too. I also like to think that despite not being able to buy higher-end items (my most expensive piece are my Hunter boots - those were a needed investment piece) I was able to avoid giving in to shabbily made clothing... most of my Inditex items are made in Portugal, rather than in some Asian country, which affects both the quality and my conscience. I can definitely tell the difference between Zara and H&M quality, which is why I own very little from the latter. Of course in terms of quality there is still a lot to be improved in my wardrobe, and hopefully in maybe a year I'll have a budget that will allow me to move up in what concerns that.

I accept any suggestions from other stores, just the prices should have to be similar. I also accept out of my league priced inspiration

I also wrote what items I'm looking for the most on the board, but anything is accepted. And in terms of colour schemes, I do black, white/cream, gray, navy, red, burgundy, purple (the redder purples), most pinks and dark green.

Barbara, I totally echo Red sentiment in the sense that you do have really lovely tastes and a great wardrobe - very functional for where you are. Plus you gave me great recommendations with the Zara basics Before you chipped in, I only owned one Zara blazer.

Can't wait to start pinning for you both now that I know what I am hunting for ^^

Red, you can't imagine how happy I am reading that you think I am not messing up too much I am miles behind everyone here and looking at my boards I really did see that they were all over the place.. Like you pointed out I think I am lining towards very simple silhouette but with a tiny bit of an edge.. Will see how it evolves. I think I am going to wear the white dress. I am just unsure about the shoes. I have pairs that are still unworn :/

Thanks. I got an invitation today for a Fashion week which starts this Monday (priceless organisation indeed) so I will have to work with what I already have. It may be work in the true sense of the word though, since I'm going as a photographer.
Have to say that it feels great that my wardrobe is versatile enough that I don't need to buy anything new just for such occasions, finally some real advantage of not being a jeans kind of girl.
At this point I have to say that I just hate buying things that are meant to wear for one occasion only, it's wrong on so many levels imo. The only dress of that type was my prom dress, but it wasn't expensive at all, I just took it to the tailor to do some adjustments and make it unique.

I feel you on that... When one of my cousins got married, in 2007, I bought a top and a skirt. I've worn the top often since; the skirt not so much, but it's definitely wearable on a daily basis. Two years ago I bought a fancy (albeit heavily discounted) dress for another cousin's wedding and, needless to say... I only wore it that one time. I'll definitely wear it in future fancy occasions, however (and I was the best dressed too ).

^^ Totally agree that being able to dress from your closet for virtually any occasion is definitely one of the rewards. Having to shop for an occasion--it can be done well, but it's a higher-stress situation, and I'm happy to avoid as many of those as I can.

When I get married, it will be in Lanvin, and it will be something I can wear many more times I think it would be romantic to wear it for anniversary celebrations.

I remember reading someone who wore custom Vera Wang saying that she loved the dress so much, she was really disappointed she could only wear it once. Of course that is the nature of a traditional wedding gown, but I have never been enamored of a traditional wedding.

At least one of my grandmothers got married in a dark (maybe navy) 1940s suit. We never talked about it, but I imagine getting a zillion yards of white anything during WWII was a quite significant challenge. I'm sure she wore the suit again ...

I think it was very common in those days to wear a suit for the wedding and then wear it again... maybe only in more formal occasions, but it was definitely worn again.

My boyfriend and I consider getting married. None of us puts too much symbolic value in it, it's in a more "what if we move countries/anything happens" way. I jokingly asked him what he wanted me to wear if we do get married, and he said "we'll wear whatever we happen to be wearing that day" I had to explain the difference between getting married and eloping...

I've been on holiday for a week and have a lot to catch up! Here in Brazil I bought underwear and bras, and now I won't buy that at least for a year. Today I saw a very cute pair of black flats with metallic toe cap, my dad liked them too, so maybe I'll see them tomorrow!
When I return to Buenos Aires I'm going to buy the boots!
