Tinetush: I really feel like I have learnt a lot about how little I need as well.

Everyone: Do any of you know about someone who sells (very) narrow chelsea boots for women? I would also like a less chunky heel, if possible. Heavy shoes just adds to the winter blues. I know balenciaga sells a perfect pair, but I can't justify those prices (400-500 euros) when they could get ruined very quickly by the salt they use on the streets. When you factor in the lack of a chunky heel, the retail + upkeep would be too expensive for me:(

i spent an hour trying on chelsea boots recently (before buying a completely different boot..) but i have a very narrow foot and the following pairs were all narrow enough to fit well (they were just problematic in other ways, for me personally). hope this helps..

cydwoq (i absolutely loved the way these looked)

church's (really nice & narrow)

i also tried on this pair of paul smith chelsea boots that were a narrow fit and perfect in every way... i would have bought them except i know i would never wear them with that flash of bright orange, sadly. :flower:

^Thank you for the links! Unfortuately, none of them could take my breath away like the ones from Balenciaga... It is very common for Chelsea boots to have a sole that is larger than the foot, so that it sticks out on every side of the boot. I don't like that, because it widens the apperance of your foot, but finfing a pair sans this is proving very difficult indeed...

My favorites were also the Paul Smiths, actually! I agree about the orange, but they didn't have an overly large sole, which is important to me.

I am attaching an image of the magical Balenciaga boots. If I import them, they are almost 1000 usd. If I buy shoes that expensive, my mother will never speak to me again:P

^ A mother doesn't need to know everything. All mine knows is that I have beautiful shoes

I wanted to suggest Tod's chelsea boots. A saw a lot of their models which are very narrow and the sole isn't wider than the boot on it's own. The price point is on the higher side but definitely cheaper than Balenciaga's.

I got a discount code and ordered these trousers:

asos.com

Which I was also into. I've always been lucky with ASOS trousers, but I will be waiting for COS' mid season sale to check theirs, compare, and only keep one pair. Especially in the past few days, where it has been rainy, I have felt the need for an extra pair of trousers (while the others won't to dry) and another pair of closed shoes. Will look into those soon. I've also heavily reduced my "wishlist" board on pinterest.

^Mid season sales? How many sales does COS have a year?

Congrats on the trousers! Hope they'll fit. Seems like a good idea to return the least perfect pair:wink:

Thank you ^_^ I'm actually new to COS, but Jinadaze said not many posts ago that there should be one in the second week of October!

Eizhowa those Balenciaga boots are stunning. I can see why no other pairs compare.

Ta-ta i am also looking for walking shoes because my current one are the equivalent of the "mom jeans"

It's true ... sometimes one option is just better  (And typically it is not the cheapest one )

My shoes arrived today ... They're pretty plain ... color's pretty. They're nice & lightweight. Inside is a pretty bronze gold insole which may be the best part and shouldn't be hidden  I would have cut them a little lower in front. They're leather, so I'm sure they'll stretch a little. There's elastic at the ankle. There's a flaw in the leather (dark spot, they look damaged) on one of them, so I may/should/I guess will exchange to get a different pair ...

I have bought the majority of my spring/summer items and because there have been sales on I have actually bought the majority of my next years Autumn/Winter items. I really hope that I can restrict myself from impulse shopping now that there is nothing else I actually need/want.

I am a bit annoyed at myself because I went on holidays and went into holiday spending mode and bought 2 cheap maxi dresses and which I am not likely to wear except on holidays. They also shrunk when washed due to the bad quality and are now knee length.

My list for the next year is as follows: Spring/Summer
-Bikini- purchased
-Summer dress- purchased
-Pretty sandals -purchased
Stripe tee (replacement)
Birkenstocks
Trench
-Cotton sweater-purchased

Autumn/Winter
Black Skinny Jeans (replacement)
-Leather leggings- purchased
-Blue Skinny Jeans- purchased in anticipation for replacement
-biker boots- purchased
Chunky grey sweater
chunky cream, navy or olive green
Long parka

Here are my gloves from Dents. Very happy with my purchase because the leather is butter soft, nice fit and details and much cheaper than Gucci/Lanvin! :D I've got a bit excess leather at my upper arm, I'm going to sew/fix that myself, after this it truly fits like a glove.

I've tried these D&G boots and I like them, but they are a bit wide at the top, so I have to put my trousers in the boots (I tried them on with leather leggings). I don't know if I like that, what do you guys think? In store wasn't a size 39, so I've purchased them online and I'm going to try them at home.

Also tried on the Gucci ankle boots, they're comfy. I like them very much. Very elegant, but with a stiletto heel, so I can't wear them much, because I don't want to damage the heels because of gaps between the pavement stones here. I'm going to buy them when they're on sale and still available.

@Barbaraaa: great trousers. I'm still looking for quality trousers that last more than a one/few years. Suggestions welcome!
@Eizhowa: I agree with misstarshine, very difficult to find the same kind of shoes but with a lower price point.

Respect you are able to walk in the heels so high. :D I don't have a favourite from those two pairs, but D&G ones look really wide around the instep.
The gloves are alluring, I love them!

I received the skinny trousers today and they are ridiculously small. I ordered my usual size and they are at least one smaller. :(

Barbaraaa, those look great! Fingers crossed they will fit!

Can't wait to see if the ones I am lusting over from COS will be discounted.

^^ On the boots, I say hold out for exactly what you want (correct fit at the top).

I decided to return my shoes ... I really want something cuter. It's good for morale  Planning to go by the store near me tonight, and see what they have. There is also a walking shoe store at that mall (or there used to be!).

As far as trousers, I've had good luck with Dries. I bought the pair I have now in 2008 or 2009? For lightweight trousers that are in heavy rotation, sometimes a few years is what you get. But you should definitely be able to get more than a year, no question.

Very good argument for paved streets:D Those boots are beautiful!

I also agree with Ta-Ta, and think you should hold out for something with a narrower opening.

Katharinium on Pinterest (if she has a tfs name, I have forgotten:( sorry...) actually recommended a brand for me, Melvin and Hamilton. They had a pair of boots that were perfect, and less than half the price of the Balenciagas. Then I noticed that the smallest size made was a 39... They were mens shoes:cry: I even emailed them because I was so annoyed. Chelsea boots are a classic, and worn by both men and women. Why can't all genders wear the same boot then?!

I wear a 37, because I am short. If I had been a normal sized norwegian, I could probably have worn a size 39:(

^ The cap on those look very manly though. For an elegant gentleman you are not. :flower:
Did you take a look at Tod's ones per my suggestion?

^I think the standard Chelsea boot for women looks so stumpy. My feet are too small for my height, so I can take a little extra length:wink: And they wouldn't be as long in a size 37, as in a size 41 as pictured. I also think the mens chelsea boots tend to look more classic and well made. And I already have a pair of plain, womens chelsea boots.

I can't find a great selection of Tods Chelsea boots on the net:(

I agree, I could identify those as a man's shoe based on the toe box construction in any lineup

Well, I like them. * stubborn * I am tired of the rounded toe boxes for women. Everyone has a pair of those. Still, I can't buy them anyway... Would need very many thick woolen socks to make them fit.

Dark tan boots:heart:

I exchanged my shoes tonite ... in what I feel was a rather eizhowa-like move, I managed to exchange for shoes more than twice as expensive  But, more comfortable, look better, and I like the position my foot is in, heel higher. They have no seams inside and a good lining, so there should be no blisters. They're a combination of nubuck & polished leather.
