yes, quite a teenager topic.

does anyone know how to really get all those f*cking annoying zits and blackheads and all that acne-stuff go away? I've had acne for six years, and I'm really getting fed up.it's not the worst one,but still very visible and my skin looks unclean.

I'm feeling I've tried everything; I drink 2 litres of water every day, I don't eat junkfood, I do sports, I eat plenty of veggies and fruits,I take multivitamins and I eat antibiotics (they help a bit, but not as much as I was hoping...I've been taking them like one month and a half now).I wash and moisturize my face every morning and night,no matter how tired I'd be.I don't use almost any make up (I know I should, but I really just am not the best to magically get that awful skin away with foundation...looks twice as bad then!).I get plenty of sleep.I've tried every brand of acne-killing products in the stores, but actually nothing helps.and I don't smoke.

please help moi, I really wanna get healthy skin next year!!!I don't even remember what is it like to have clear skin...

nature's cure. lots of people say that it doesnt work but its the only thing that worked for me.

Have you tried going to see a dermatologist?

That does help a lot. :flower:

Burt's Bees has this oil/liquid stuff you should check out..

try using products that contain salicylic acid. it helps... also, try to take vitamin C and vitamin E... it helps too...

Hi Franny,

It sounds like you are doing everything right... so sometimes it is just genetic... but to further add your regiment.

I have constant acne too but my regiment consist of:

Peter Thomas Roth Medicated BPO 5% acne wash.
Shiseido face cleaner
(just a note I wash my face twice everytime I wash my face! It helps greatly! BTW... before you use your hand to wash your face, get a cheap simple anti-bacteria liquid soap wash and REALLY REALLY clean your hand before you wash your face, that helps too!) BUT you really have to be careful on the ones that dries out your face too much. Don't use those.. that will make it worse.

and then I use Orlane B21 Purete Astringent toner for my pores. I have big visible pores and at least for me Orlane helps me to get smaller pores. As well always always use toners.. you will be surprised to see what comes off your face even after 2 washes.

As for acne cream... for me I use proactive or some other brands such as Peter Thomas Roth. Use Qtips to apply. Always use one Q tip for each face, and then take another Qtip and dabb onto another pimple. That way it will stop the bacterial infection. That really helps!

After that I apply a moisturizer( I don't know what you use, but for me I use different kinds) but you have to becareful what Moisturizer you use.. .can't be greasy ones.

As for additional note. I have found use face mask twice a week helps a lot.

For the big bad red nasty pimples, I use Mario Badescu's Drying lotion. Work wonders for me. It is an overnight treatment that will reduce the redness of the pimple and make it smaller overnight. But once the cream is dried, it flakes off easily which I don't like but hey as long as it works right?! :P

When All fails for me another really good one to use Kielhs' Drawing Paste with Azulene. This is a very greasy cream that reduced the pimple fast too. BUT it itches for me. Apparently it contains Zinc or Sulfur that is suppose to help calm the pimple.

Ok.. now... thats too much detail and personal for my face regiment! :P
BUT I really hope this helps you out a bit

Just always always wash your hand and make sure they are clean before you get it even near you face for anything! :flower:

anyone ever tried the dermalogica anti-bac wash??

i just went to a beauty store today looking for a product, since i have been having a lot of breakouts lately, and the sales lady swore up and down by this product. she says she had tried everything else, and have found this to be the only one that worked. and she had great skin.

it has a combination of triclosan (antibiotic?) that gets rid of bacteria on the face, and salicylic acid.

i've never heard of this line before, so if anyone has tried it, i'd like some thoughts. thanks!

dilute lemon juice with distilled water & dab pimple to kill germs. it's very effective!

I didn't like proactiv....didn't do anything for my skin except it made it very dry and I wasn't even using a lot. The mask is quite nice though.

Warning: they will charge you every 2-3 months ...there is no such thing as a one off payment, although when you get the product sent through again, they will refund the money if you send it back, minus p&p.

You can buy Proactiv on ebay to see how you like it so that you won't have the Proactiv company sending products and charging you every 3 months.

it's not meant for acne but whenever i use Guerlain's issima midnight secret it makes my skin look amazing and i never get blemishes when I'm using it.

In fact it's a night cream but I use it in the day too-I mean I don't think your skin knows whether it's night or day so the whole concept of day and night creams are just made up by beauty companies to get double your money! It's not incredibly cheap but it's not too expensive either and it just helps eliminate all the toxins from your face so you remain blemish free and really fresh faced. I love that stuff, it's worth buying in bulk.

I take B complex at a 150 mg dosage. Also a lot of vitamin C. Has helped a lot.

My skin has cleared up all most completely in the last few weeks here's what I do now.

MORNING

Wash face in the with dove pink bar soap
I use a face wash cloth I bought at bath and body
last week it exfoliates your skin soo good!
Use Witch Hazel as astringent

NOON

I put witch hazel on my face everytime I'm in my
bathroom or when I think about it..

NIGHT

Before I go to bed I wash my face again with the
soap and wash cloth and put witch hazel on my face

If my skin is dry or if I just want to moisturize it I use
Clean and Clear morning glow face lotion

Once a week I use a Olive face mask from bath and
body to moisturize my skin since it tends to be dry.

Now my skin is soooo soft and it's really clearing up,
plus I'm trying not to squeeze my face which actually
irritates it if I do squeeze it! Also I take Nature's Cure
thing which I buy at Wal-Mart. Good luck:flower:

When i was 18 i had terrible acne and persisted to do so until i saw a dermatologist and she gave me tetralysal and it cleared it up. My advice is see a dermatologist. It may be hormonal or something underlining like a thyroid problem or lack of vitamin B. Also keep doing what you are doing. Good luck and there are people who understand.

I know exactly how you feel! I hate my skin too and it seems like nothing..NOTHING will work! Except for the fact that I wear foundation :innocent:

I've tried products from the drugstore, got Proactive, and even went to the dermatologist. Nothing. But I did see this advertisment for acne called Murad. (www.murad.com) and I was wondering if anyone has ever tried it and has an EXCELLENT results. I'm a sucker for "as seen on tv" products...and I really want to know if it works!

I got the murad thing... didnt like it (i have sensitive skin and it was kinda stingy, and like shiny if that makes any sense whatsoever) and i'm one week into accutane! When your on accutane you cant use any topical stuff and i find that my skin has looked the best it has in a while because there is nothing on the surface making it look irritated, i mean my skin looks REAL good, so maybe go a while with nothing (but maybe moisturizer if you need it) and see if you like the appearance of your skin better. I found that the stuff i was putting on my face hardly helped, and it just made it look redder and like... ugly:yuk: give your skin a break.

p.s. i know how frustrating it is to feel like you've tried everything, good luck:flower:
