The Acne Thread

does anyone find they get pimples when you don't sleep enough?
Not getting enough sleep won't cause acne per se, but it may aggravate your acne. I guess it's because when you sleep, your body gets the time to rejuvenate and 'repair' itself.

But I think it ultimately depends on your body, because I have been staying up late these last couple of weeks and I have no zit problem at all. So it's a zit myth for me.

question about face breakouts?

well i have some mild breakouts on my face, very little. But i just would like to know how i should take care of my skin,to get rid of them. For example i have a neutrogena scrub that is not rough and i have a cleanser that is not for pimples, just to clean the face. How and when should i use the cleanser and scrub?

Thank You

i think it does if you sleep when you wear make up and dont clean efficiently.

i wore revlons colorstay and its a b*tch to take off but its amazing for its price and i missed under my nose and i had a big cystic pimple there for 2 weeks.

man did that hurt!

i have another question? anyone tried mary kay products, specifically their microdermabrasion one? they're only available to private owners similar avon.

another what is topical vitamin e for and would it help my skin especially with scars?

lastly, anyone gone to walmart lately and see scar treatments at the pharmacy aisle? which one is effective?

help!
i have this really painful bump under my skin that is going to turn into a pimple.... i reallllly want it to go away soon but it's not even close to coming to the surface.
i think i got it cause i've been switching around my skincare system a little lately .... i switched from the clinique 3 step system to oil cleansing to a mixture of the two and back to clinique.... i zeno-ed my pimple about 30 mins ago and put some retin-a on it...i have a feeling its going to be a while until it comes to the surface.
also i have this pimple that i popped and has now scabbed over. i put on neosporin on it last night and a little retin -a on now but it seems to be getting worse!. :(

Just a tip - when you've gone and done the taboo act of picking at a spot and it becomes a scab, neosporin is great to put on it like you said - HOWEVER I highly recommend buying those little round spot-shaped bandaids and applying them over the neosporin-slathered scab and then go to sleep for the night. Your scab will disappear in no time.

whats neosporin?

i mean what soluble is it and where can i get it?

Neosporin is an antibiotic ointment that can be found in almost every pharmacy/drug store in the United States. I'm sure it's just as prevalant abroad, but it might be sold under a different name.

I've begun using L'Oreal's microdermabrasion kit and I like it so far---it's taking a great deal of restraint not to let myself use it everyday. I figure I will just follow the instructions and be as patient as possible, the one thing I've never actually tried..

suggestions for stressed skin?

when i get stressed the next day i wake up with breakouts!! how come it is so ?

any one that can suggest a product to use to prevent breakouts , i would love to hear it!

also any suggestions to prevent stressing out :(:(or to cure stress :flower::heart:thankyou

i just started using proactiv and its working really well. i see a good good noticeable difference.

my problem is that im really drying my face out especially around the mouth area. Im using a clay mask too which i havent used in 3 days now and im too scared to do microdermabrasion with a routine already quite heavy it seems for my skin.

I have never found vitamin E to be effective. I used to apply it to imperfections in the evening and then sleep in it and it seemed as though the spots were even more noticeable in the morning.

really???????? 4-6 months? I thought that you have to change ur cream/moisturizer after 3 minths of use...:shock:

my skin gets so oily if i don't,i can almost feel the dead cells clogging it when i just use a regular cleanser:doh:.but the granules in the scrub i'm using are really gentle-they're like small plant seeds, not chemical like in l'oreal's..but everyone's skin is different so what works for me might not work for someone with more sensitive skin.:flower:
please let me know how it goes..but be patient!i've heard that most people give up on their skin products after 5-6 uses because they want that instant gratification you mentioned.the truth is that even the most expensive creams (la mer, revive) will usually take 4-6 months for full results.

I'm so desperate now with my skin, I had some bad acne on my forehead, my dermatologist prescribed me antibiotics, diet and vitamins. Result was good, I got rid of acne, but lately this awful acne is coming back! I'm so depressed and afraid it will be back again! Now it's only a little bit of acne on my upper forehead, it's not that noticeable, but I see it. Last time it started the same way - from upper forehead to all of my forehead skin.
I so don't wanna go to dermatologist, cause I'll have to got through this awful procedure of analysis, and I'm sure dermatologist will prescribe me antibiotics again and they're so bad for health
what should I do now when acne is just started, maybe I can stop it now by myself?
I wanna try la roche posay products, are they good? I'm using avene now

yeah, for example my dermatologist had prescribed a benzoyl peroxide cream and it didn't do anything significant for say 3 months..if he didn't insisted i wouldn't have seen its remarkable results a month and a half later..

i have used both avene and la roche effaclar line and i can honestly say effaclar is waaay better.it's effaclar k cream is so soothing:)

exactly!!it didn't make it worse, but it didn't work either (i was using the diacneal cream)

I never get zits.

Until this month, I have a huge breakout between my eyebrows and it's annoying me so much. I think it's some hormonal imbalance since I've had my period about three times this month. :ninja: :ninja: :ninja: I think I should go see the OB/GYN.
