i have used both avene and la roche effaclar line and i can honestly say effaclar is waaay better.it's effaclar k cream is so soothing

What do you use from the lines if you don't mind me asking. My CVS just put in both of these lines and I'd like to try them out if they are any good!

from avene i've used the diacneal cream,that says it does a mild exfoliation and help clear the skin's surface (didn't work for me)
and from la roche posay i use the effaclar k cream and the effaclar a.i topical cream for spots.those two work amazingly good under make up too

Thanks for the suggestions. I bought Diacneal in Canada before it was sold here and that really made my skin bad because my skin HATES glycolic acids, which sucks because it's in so many products!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar K is amazing! I had a sample that I used for about a week and a half and my skin improved noticeably over that time.

^^that's what did it for me too satin chic,i couldn't believe my skin!!i thought if only a sample can blow my mind,imagine the long term use..and thank god i was right

and superwoman no i don't think it helps with the scars,except if they have a new special item now for scarring,i don't know..but the standard 3 step version i used didn't do anything for my scars

l'oreal's microdermabrasion kit,2 times a week for about 4 months straight,i still do it once every two weeks

How about using Proactive and the L'oreal kit at the same time, anyone done it before?

Hopfully it's safe because I would like to get rid of acne and scars...

^^ooh i think that would be too much..the benzoyl peroxide in proactive doesn't mix well with any other treatment,let alone something as harsh as microdermabrasion..your skin will be in flames!i say no,no!!

Proactiv probably will not help with scarring issues with acne. It contains benzoyl perxoide which some people believe to be an oxidizer, which might even make scars darker or appear worse.

I think the best thing is wearing a very high PPD sunscreen.

^so is it pretty pointless to use proactiv if you have acne and acne scars then?? i was thinking of trying it but if its just going to make my existing scars darker, whilst getting rid of existing acne then...its rather counterproductive and maybe i shouldn't use it at all?!

what?! i thought it could bleach your skin.

i mean i dont notice my scars getting darker but it may be but i do notice that my acne is going away.

how do i feel now? i feel fine. i have oily skin but the only oily part right now is my nose but i dont feel any tightness whatsoever everywhere else.
