I tanned several times (with sun tan lotion) and none of my hyper-pigmentation marks have become darker. While I was tanned they were less noticeable. Some have faded away with time, others have stayed the same. Though really I would recommend trying to get rid of the marks another way instead of hiding them by tanning all the time.
exactly, i second that. i have a small scar on my back due to a back surgery and when i have a tan, it fades a bit, it never grows darker or lighter than my tanned color.
i am looking into different peels right now but it's just getting so annoying having to use makeup to cover up my hyperpigmentation. so in the mean time would it be okay to use a fake tan?
it will make them not look as apparent, but underneath all that... i think it's probably almost like applying foundation on a pimple. it will cover it up, but it won't heal it, only clog your skin. the sun, on the other hand will dry up your pimple, but not heal it.
