The Acne Thread

i had this happen right before a fashion show(im the designer) and i put a bit of toothpaste (no flavour, sensitive teeth) on it the size was smaller but it's still there

i have a couple of suggestions.

1)proactiv. if its your first time using it then it should work well.

2)queen helene julepe mask. its an effective and not to mention cheap mask you can find. Its highly rated by users in makeupalley and its available in sally's beauty supply. use it as a spot treatment.

3) aspirin mask. go to your bathroom cabinet and look for aspirin specifically an uncoated one. i dont know how long before your graduation but ALL future pimples are going to come to a head so your skin will have whiteheads and it will be smooth sailing after that.:)

I am on a course of Oxytetracycline which is effective except I've had a busy couple of weeks and have sometimes forgotten to take my meds.

Now I have a horrible outbreak. I'm hoping it's due to stress from examinations, meaning that I finish Friday so they should start to get better.

Hmphh...

So basically I am breaking out the worst i have ever in my whole entire life... This is gotten out of HAND!!!!! So I am sick of all the creams pills etc.. Nothing ever works. I am doing laser Photodynamic Laser treatments only 1000 and it WORKS it clears the skin like no tomorrow and it keeps acne away forever!!!! I am sooo excited!!! Will post pics soon I am starting it next wed.!!!

Birth Control always helps but it messes you up... seriously. I started the B when i was 12 and stayed on it till i was 18 and now look at me broken out all messed up.. I should have let nature run its course and break out naturally at a young age. INstead i am almost 24 years old with very light skin and acne covered my face.. I did acting and now had to put that on hold. I cant even go out anymore nor look at people in the face. I feel so ugly i wanna die... Im so depressed... I hope this laser works!!!!!!! seriously

^ Is this the laser treatment that costs one thousand dollars?
I had a facial last week (an acne treatment one) and so far so good...My face looked as though it had been tortured for a few days (red and sore) but my acne has cleared up really well...Scarring is still present, but my face looks so much calmer and smoother...The acne that was there is drying up and new pimples are appearing as just small whiteheads (which is a good sign)...I have another glycolic-based session in two weeks time...If you have mild-moderate acne, perhaps try a few facials...They do help calm your skin when it is in the middle of a nervous break-down. Oohh and I have found that stressing out about it makes it even worse...I know this sounds stupid, but thinking positively about your skin really helps the healing process...Try and keep positive :) :flower:

that's defo true. I used to be all stressed out and depressed because of it, but then some things happened in my life which made think less about it, I felt better and my skin got better automatically!

I guess that old saying/phrase, "you create what you fear" can apply here ;)

i get blackheads on my nose...i think like most people, and the only thing i can say that REALLY WORKS WELL is to get in the shower with some soap like dove and a wash rag,let ur skin soak up the water for 10-15 minutes while u shower, then take the rag and lather it with soap and GENTLY rub ur nose and any area with blackheads for a few minutes...when you get out u can see the difference OMG...its my cure all for the nose blackhead....but be very gentle with the wash rag and ur face, or ull become raw (like i have so many times before :shock:)

Yeah ,I did this method but I did scrub kind of rough so now my nose feels like I have a bad sunburn .Not pleasant. It did however get rid of some blackheads thankfully ,at least that pain did some good damage.

My nose is really the only spot where I have a lot of oil and blackheads ,I think i just need to get some pore cleanser.

well i'm really stressed with school and yeah i'm breaking out majorly

I had a sudden break out yesterday, which was totally random as I bought loads of nice cosmetics to make my face look good but having the acne kind of spoilt it..
That reminds me! I want to go and put some of that stuff on.. i'll go do it now and i'll tell you what it's called..
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Cleanser
It truly is good for acne and it's good for my fugly nose

i've been having the worst break out of my life!!
has anyone tried the chanel purete ideale serum?

hey. I was on accutane for 5 months last year after 5 years of mild to moderate acne and trying all antibiotics and topicals.
My face cleared up completely and the side effects were actually not too bad (I was on only 50mg max because I don't have severe acne and because of my weight).

But now, 7 months after quitting my acne seems to be coming back. It's definitely not as bad but it started of just with some clogged pores and now I'm already getting inflamed pimples again.

I'm seeing my derm again next week and I was wondering whether anyone here has gone on a 2nd course of accutane and what their experience was (regarding initial breakout severity and whether the acne came back again after the 2nd course or stayed away this time).

Thanks!

Yes I was a Chanel skin-care user for over nine months, have tried the purity range (from cleanser to mattifier) and found that it had caused more irritation than good :( It just wasn't effective for my sensitive skin-type, and I'm still searching for the HG cleanser/moisturiser for my face...Its out there somewhere! :p

Have you considered trying acne products specifically catered for Asian skin? I am always extremely skeptical of my mother's cure-all products but out of desperation, I decided to try one of her zany products and surprisingly it worked; it is a green Korean face soap that is supposed to be extremely sensitive, I'll get the name next time I visit her. Although I still have red spots, my acne is near gone except for a few stray bumps.

I am not entirely sure that the soap cleared up all my acne but it certainly helped considering that my routine has always been the same: soap, benzoyle peroxide, moisturizer.

Regardless, you should visit some Asian cosmetic specialty shops and talk to them about products. :flower:
