The Acne Thread

Oh wow that's odd
Weird thing is... I usually brush my mouth first thing in the morning (because I pick up breakfast on the way to school and it's better to just chewy gum afterwards) and I still get lots of pimples.

^ It's not about brushing your teeth first thing in the morning. It's about not swallowing and rinsing your mouth out without swallowing first thing when you wake up.

But are you sure your skin has been getting better because of that? It could also just have happened at the same time like when you got out of puberty or so. No idea how old you are. My skin is getting better, I guess I'm just becoming a super hip adult now.

im 20, and ive always had problems with acne...it was bad enough in high school that i went on accutane which made my skin crystal clear up untill a few months ago when I started breaking out a little on my forehead and always a little around my mouth. I really think it has something to do with rinsing my mouth out first thing before anything else, because since then I haven't had one pimple around my mouth or forehead, I still have blackheads but they aren't as noticeable.
This may seem kind of gross but if you actually look at what you rinse out in the morning you'll see everything that accumulated over the night :S

^I find 75% of my blackheads have gone since I started using the blackhead clearing strip things

My skin looks great today! Just thought I'd share. :) I think the zinc thing is actually working! I also changed my face wash to Bioderma's "Sebium" cleanser for oily/mixed skin, but I don't think face wash can make that big of a difference in a week... or can it? Anyhow, I am content with my skin now. Now if I can just get it to stay this way forever...

Is it odd that my skin looks good the morning after a night of drinking?

I think it may have something to do with increased circulation from dancing so much. Exercise. Maybe sweating out toxins too?

Do people ever notice their skin looking good the day after exercise? Hmm

I have had pretty bad acne for just about a year now. I've tried so many different products and wasted so much money. But from this morning, I have been on an apple fast. Has that ever worked for anyone?

^I don't know what that is exactly but if its as obvious as it sounds (just eating apples) that won't do you any good. My advice would be to go to the doctors,I suffered for years before I went and I regret not going sooner

I saw the apple fast on a review of the ebook "acne free in 3days". It's only for three days, its going a lot easier then I thought it would.....but I have seen one new spot today, i'm not that worried since I have new spots everyday. I have an issue with the doctor everytime i've been, i've been given something that makes my skin ten times worse.

don't trust those " clear acne in 3 days" and i don't trust those three step face wash like, pro-activ, the clean&clear ones and yeah. my face has been breaking out like crazy lately, and i bought the neutrogena acne stress cleanser foam...but it just makes my skin more oily. so i really don't know which acne cleanser to use now. any suggestions?

^For me personally,I haven't ever found a cleanser/face wash that worked perfectly for me. I never had any results with clearasil or neutrogena etc. I found the clinique 3 step didn't make my problems any worse and they had a little improvement into the condition of my skin.

Diorlover-have you been on zineryt? Because I was on that from my doctor and the spots literally dissapeared overnight. It might be worth asking to go on that if you haven't already tried it.

I also recommend Zineryt.

Though it seems to wear off after a while. I have been stressed however.

I did the apple fast for just two days, because well.......people started scaring me, saying how bad it was.

I actually think it did my skin some good. I'm now thinking about using dermalogica products, but they are expensive.

What is Zineryt, a pill? lotion?

and how bad was your skin....because mine is well....god awful!!

You get Zineryt from your GP - it's an antibiotic combined with zinc. I believe it's good to skin, even if it does have a strong chemical smell.
It comes as a liquid in a bottle which you sort of roll on, except there's not a roll on just a bit of material that the liquid soaks through.
