I think it absolutely works. It cleared up my skin, but the only problem is that your skin adapts to it rather quickly and then you have to switch regimes. I didn't mind--I used Proactive for a couple months, my skin cleared up and then I went back to Cetaphil.
I would most definitely reccomend it.

Hi, I have a question 
My skin used to be so-so ... some small (but always nastily red
) spots, blackheads around the nose and bigger pores on the forehead. My forehead was also very oily, while the rest of my face was okay, meaning that my fringe often after school or a long shopping trip was all straggly. Oh, and since I am very fair skinned (I hardly ever find makeup mor my rosy porcelain skin, it's always to darkand WAY to yellow for me :/) it seemed to dull.
A few weeks ago I started using a new tube of my washing gel. I think they changed the formula, it smells and looks different and the tube looks slightly different as well (but they didn't advertise it). Thing is, at first my skin was all normal, but then a few days ago my skin started showing strange reactions to it. I started getting this kind of rash, manymany small but not red spots that you couldn't see but feel. At first it was only my chin and cheeks, then my entire face. Suddenly my skin was sensitive to EVERYTHING, which is new to me.
Then it got all dry and today I noticed that the rash seems to be gone and my skin seems to have improved in general. Less blackheads, almost no spots (no visible ones), my forehead is much less oily and it seems to be more glowy (positively).
Not complaining, but is a change of skin types in just a few days possible? I drink as much water and green tea as before, I eat just as before. The only difference is that it started getting sunny again and that I started jogging again, but I've been jogging for months withouth improvement in skin.

i've had chronic problems with my skin. was on accutane for awhile.
though strangely enough, when i was in beijing for 3 months, ate the greasiest foods, the city is really dirty.... i had CLEAR skin. this is the only time in my life since adolescence that this happened. i have no idea why. maybe its the tea.

water, water, and more water!!
I can't stress this enough. This past week or so I've been drinking water like crazy and my skin has improved drastically! I used to have mild acne on my forhead but now it's pretty much gone. I've also been using H20 products, and getting lots of sleep etc so probably that helped too.

I started using Cetaphil (its cheaper than dirt compared to Proactiv even) and drinking Sow Mei (White Tea, but if you go to a Chinese grocery ask for sow mei otherwise it will take forever to find) and my skin is completely clear almost!

White tea is the best for skin
hey, you know Sow Mei, i drink it every morning, do you know there are another kinds of white tea named " White Peony" and " Sliver Needle". try them, they have better result for skin.
" Sliver Needle" is bady leaf of white tea tree and "White Peony" is a mix of baby leaves and grown up leaves. And "Sow Mei" is all grown up leaves.

I know, Sow Mei is cheapest and easiest to find though! By the time I found it using mangled Mandarin and screaming Bai Cha (who knew that white tea wasn't the right translation for white tea?), I'd take whatever was remotely close!

http://soap-please.com/store/home.php is another link for unrefined shea butter products. it is Daybreak Lavender Farm- an organic farm where they handmake everything. no black soap though. i swear by their rassoul mud facial soap.
for the above site, my friend who swears by it wanted me to add this for you:
Hi! I love black soap. I'm also pretty sure that anyone asking about it is talking about african black soap. My understanding is that "black soap" is made with a high percentage of plant butters or oils(shea, cocoa--depending on what is local to the region) and ash from native wood or plants. I order mine from http://www.agbangakarite.com/. It's a really pure black soap from Togo and I like it because it uses mostly shea butter. I've looked at some brands sold is stores, but they're scented and don't have a very high percentage of shea butter. If you order it (I go for the 1 lb sample), know that it's not scented, and it looks weird, like a block of mud or something. I microwave mine to melt it and then press it into a pan, let it cool, and cut it into bars. It's all totally natural, and the company that I mentioned above is really cool--you can read about it on their web site.
