i have been to my doctor so many times, and tried many tablets/creams/solutions...but nothing has worked. currently i'm on tetralysal tablets - fingers crossed. Has anyone else tried them?

^I've not heard of that form of antibiotics.

I actually think my 'acne' may be over. My skin still has the occassional spot but I think the antibiotics have finally gone back to working

I was on tetralysal twice but it didn't work for me. I respond better to other antibiotics.

I'm on a second course of accutane right now, for my very mild but persistent acne...

I used to take tetracyline, I am guessing they are related? I can't remember if they worked that well or not it was while I was at school, years ago. I stopped though because I was scared of staining my teeth!

tetracycline here is in a form of ointment and it is used against allergies... is this the same stuff?

i must confess that my acne is in a regressive stage and i think its due to several things i've done through the last month:

1. i used thermal water and sprayed face in the morning and in the evening. also before using foundation. i recommend avene and la roche posay thermal water.

2. i started using foundation from drug store; especially avene courvance, which is a heaven to my skin.

3. i used a lot of avene diacneal creme. night/day/foundation base.

4. i used st. ivess apricot scrub mixed with aspirin and warm honey.

5. used a lot of vichy mineral powder after putting foundation on.

it takes a lot of patience and time to follow these rules each day but it pays off. in my case, at least. i hope this guidances help someone.

I've heard so much about avene diacneal creme and how great it is for acne prone skin, I want to try it!

That's what I'm one. As for the teeth staining,I believe the risk is in infants/young children. I have been on them since September and have had no discolouring. And for me they do work,although I still have the odd spot but it's pretty okay at the moment. I'm just worried what will happen when I come off of the m but I still have another 9 months to go before I need to worry about that. The only BIG downside though is that you can't eat for at least 2 hours before and 1 hour after,and for a girl who loves her food,it's nothing short of torture!

Ah OK i didn't know if they atually could its just because I got my fingers wet and the yellow all rubbed onto them. But more recently at work a dentist removed a girls tooth and asked if she had took it because he could see the staining on the tooth he had removed.

I bought Avene Diacneal today I didn't see it here before, apparently they started selling it here not long ago. I hope this stuff is as good as everyone tells

I don't think you're meant to use that much of it, a think layer and so far with me it hasn't caused me any harm, you have to make sure to wash it all off in the morning otherwise the residue could cause clogging, its antiseptic which is good for preventing spreading, from my observations its seems to be working better than most expensive creams i've tried!! I stand corrected though! ;-)
