GUYS
scars scars scars
if you want a quick treeatment in two weeks try mederma.. I recently just brought it and it already lgihtened my hyper pigmentation.. and its almost flatened out my raised scars..

Okay, quick question (which kinda relates to the post above me): I have scars (just coloration, not bumps or anything) but I'm also still really acne-prone, so would something like Mederma make me break out or be okay? Because I'd love to start taking care of that!

Mederma is very good for hyperpigmentation it deffinitely doesnt break my out more but just dont use it on active breakouts.. also I'd be cautious to use it if you have sensitive skin .. another thing apple cider vinegar is very good too.. so a combination is perfect..

oh no, that's exactly what I need and they don't sell Mederma anymore in Germany (at least that's what their homepage says) :(

yeah, it's weird. they sell it on the american website but on the german one they advise buying Contractubex®

I'm glad I went to the derm. My pimples seem to be vanishing, my skin feels much flatter but it's red and dry and I'm shedding like crazy. (Sorry for the grossness, but be happy you don't have to see me) I hope it's supposed to be like that

^what did he prescribe you, purdles? (btw, I answered your question in your profile ;) )

Hi, can anyone help. I have bad backne (back acne). Well, I think it is caused because my head hair malts a lot and I think it goes down my tops and irritates my skin. However, even when I tie my hair up, it finds its way down my top and I'm fed up of having quite large sore spots on my back, even though I have a clear complexion everywhere else.
Do you have any advice?

katebug, it really is best to see a dermatologist when it comes to bacne :flower:

2 really important things to me are:
1. no picking! Not even touching a spot whatsoever! I get hyperpigmentation plus the spot will heal very slowly.
I tried an experiment: I allowed myself to touch one half of my face as usual and I restricted myself of doing so on the other side. The touched side looks bad and needs cover up, but the one w/o touching is actually good :woot:
So this tip worked wonders for me although I never took it serious, I wish I would have realized this earlier...

2. know which foods you may eat and which ones cause your breakouts. Of course this does not apply to everyone, but I've noticed a huge difference: I haven't been eating a lot of wheat products and my overall skin situation got better, in the past few days I've been eating like almost exclusively wheat products and now my skin itches (hurray for my neurodermatitis ), it looks dull and dried out (+my stomach hurts and I feel nauseous)
It didn't make me break out yet, but I know it will so I'll try to restrain myself from wheat again.

yea I pick it every day which results in scars which results in mederma..

Laurette- do you have scars?

I went to the doctors to see if he had cream, and he prescribed me Pan Oxyl. It is really quite effective for me, I would suggest it for people with bad acne and oily skin!

Has anyone tried the acne clearing device by Zeno?
I keep seeing it on mags so I figured it must work.
zeno-device.jpg

"Zeno applies a precisely controlled heat dose directly to the pimple through a metal pad. One treatment lasts 2½ minutes. Two to three treatments spread over
24 hours clear up most pimples quickly. It's that simple."

But I refuse to pay $185.

Hmm, I don't know if anyone remembers, but a few pages back (I think) I posted how I THOUGHT I was getting clear using Clearogen. Well, it didn't work out (and for others who were using it at the same time as me, too). :/ That was a few months ago.

So here's my story: Since then, I have been seeing an esthetician (a friend on acne.org recommended going to her instead of a dermatologist) for about 8 weeks now, and I couldn't be happier 'cause my skin is clearer than it's ever been in years. It's kind of expensive, but very well worth it. I just have to get rid of some scars and hyperpigmentation I have left now. Joy!!

But to summarize, when I first went there (it's like an hour drive to and fro... bleh!), the esthetician analyzed my skin and deemed that I had noninflamed acne. She then discussed lifestyle changes, and eventually she looked through ALL my old skin care products and told me what to use and what not to use, and which ones had pore-clogging ingredients. I've been seeing her every two weeks for facials and regimen adjustments (to keep up with my skin as it adapts) and I've been making a lot of progress. I showed major improvements at just six weeks. :D But yeah. If you live too far away to actually go and visit the clinic, don't despair; they work with long-distance clients as well and I know someone who's actually doing that and it seems to be working out.

So there. I'm ecstatic I've finally found something that worked. It's also a plus that the people who work at the clinic are really friendly, compassionate, and understanding. If you still haven't found something that worked for you, give them a chance--they have a high success rate. If you're interested, the clinic I go to has a site. If you're still in disbelief, I hope these reviews from other clients will convince you. I have to admit, I didn't think it would work out either, but I'm glad I went... :)

---

Oh yeah, about the Zeno--I've heard a lot that it works on certain types of pimples at certain times. It won't do much for pimples that are already there, but if you can catch a zit as it's developing, you can zap it and it will stop it in its tracks or make it less angry. I wouldn't recommend it if you are thinking of using it for your whole face because there is a limited amount of uses you have until you have to buy a refill, which is expensive and even more expensive over time.

---

And in case someone wasn't aware, check out acne.org for advice and makeupalley.com for product reviews. They've both been very helpful to me, so I hope others can benefit from these sites as well.

I would never trust clinique!
