I have a problem with cetaphil face wash, not because it's not good because i have a mental issue with it. I hate washing my face and when I wash it off it doesn't feel really clean because my face isn't 'squeaky clean'... I know 'squeaky clean' is bad but unless it is my face fells... dirty

does anyone know if humidity affects your skin?? i moved from a very dry climate and now this is my first summer in an area with high humidity...my skin has gone crazy! it seems like the weather is the only thing that is different, so im trying to figure out if this could be the cause. how do you guys deal with humidity??

I've heard that using a humidifier in your room will help skin. I've never tried it but I read some models use it.

What spot treatments for problem areas do people recommend? I havent had a breakout in years until just recently I used a couple products with mineral oil in them (stupidly) and now my skin is still purging from it, particularly on my chin, which is strange. It's driving me crazy though. My usually perfect skin and I go to visit my mom and she says "What did you do to your face??"

So I'm going to get the Natura Bisse Oxygen Cream and Oxygen Mask, was also thinking of trying Leaf & Rusher's Acne Spot Tx...heres the review of it from Nordstrom.com

^I use a serum from MD Formulation which contains glycolic acid, and it works ok. It made me break out a little in the beginning, which I think is normal. Now, my skin is getting better by the day

I use a glycolic serum by La Prairie every other evening or whenever I feel my skin is looking dull. It's pretty marvelous and the only LP product I'll most likely continue purchasing. Insanely expensive however, $170.

I'm sure you can find many other options for cheaper. I have a Murad glycolic serum that I never really use that has hydroquinone in it and it's purpose is to lighten old acne scars and pigmentation, etc. Do you need some info about how glycolic works? It's very good at penetrating deep because the molecular size of it is so small so it can get into your pores. Just dont overuse it if you have sensitive skin.

yeah i have really blotchy(discouloured, uneven) skin and acne scars too. Im hoping glycolic could be it for me.

im thinking of getting the neostrata daytime smoothing moisturizer and it has 10% glycolic acid.

its 36$ and its going to be my most expensive investment for my skin so far.

I've never visited this thread before because usually I don't get spots. One or two tiny ones during my monthly periods, but nothing major.
Recently I got back from a trip to the beach and god, I've got this Huge lump, which I guess could be referred to as nodule type of acne as it's pretty painful (for an acne, that is) and big. I've got only one, but it drives me crazy. Do you guys know any tips to clear them that worked for you?
I know it's not what dermatologists would tell you, but I usually wait till it's all ready and squeeze it till all of that nasty white fluid comes out and put some medicine on it. But this one is just really painful and not "squeeze-able".
oh and I usually use Dalacin T for spots, would this work for this type?

I know its really hard to not touch those nodules (they're called cystic acne) that are painful, lumpy, and just plain obnoxious, but do your best not to since you're transferring bacteria every time you touch it.

Something that is recommended quite often for these annoyances is called Nelson's Acne Gel.

Extracts of Organically Grown Calendula Officinalis 1 X 2.5%, Arnica Montana 1 X 2.5%, Sulfur 6 X 1.5% and Tea Tree Oil, in a water-soluble gel base.

Despite cheap, this stuff is phenomenal for cysts! Although I don't find this useful for blackheads/clogged pores IME, and can't comment on other types of acne since I don't get other types of pimples.

I've converted so many of my friends to Nelson's, my brother too! Oh, and once a friend used it on a *boil* she had for 3 weeks (and several derm visits), and just one application of Nelson's shrunk it about 20% over 2 hrs, and in 10 days of 2x/day application the boil was GONE!

I'm using the Oxygen Cream right now and it has made a huuuuge difference to my skin I had an initial purge on it, but after that, I get none of those irritating little blemishes that I used to get very frequently. My skin is completely clear I am still getting a monthly breakout but it's at least 75% reduced because I'm using the Natura Bisse. It's such a huge improvement, and I would say it's the product which has made the biggest difference to my skin (and I've used a lot of products ). The texture and scent of the cream is lovely, my skin is soft and glowing. It feels like a luxurious thick cream but it's not heavy, sinks in easily and whilst it's not cheap, a little goes a long way.

I highly recommend it if you want to regulate your skin, mine was so erratic before I started using it, and now it's calm and looks really healthy. I will definitely get the mask too

My skin used to be quiet bad, not really bad. But bad, people used to say it was fine but I noticed. I didnt like it at all.
my friend told me to use a sunbed each week for 3 minutes, and after that my skin has been clear ever since.

Awesome!! That's great your skin is totally cleared up! I remember when we were discussing that purchase, and the hydrogen peroxide was a concern of yours because it can be corrosive. So it's been at least a month that you're on it right? I am so excited to try it for myself...I guess my face is finally fed up with me switching around from all the lines, so I'm going to try and condense it all. How often are you using it? Day and night? Also, what are you cleansing with? Still the Aveda Outer Peace? i might give that another go myself.

^Yep, it's been about a month of using it day and night, so maybe I'll see even better results with more use! I cleanse at night with Natura Bisse Facial Cleansing Gel with AHA. I stopped using Aveda because I found it terribly drying, just didn't suit me at all...but I like this because it's a gentle exfoliation every night, refreshes my skin, cleans it with no dryness or irritation. I tone twice daily with Sensitive Toner, which is just pleasant and soothing...I guess it's not miraculous, but I like using a toner and I think using three products from the same line has been beneficial.

I have heard that the Oxygen Cream loses efficacy after 3-4 months (I guess because of the ingredients). It's also annoying that it comes in a jar and not a pump bottle because you're transferring germs etc. but if you want to clarify your skin, stabilise it and keep it nice and moisturised as well, it's definitely worth a shot

I want to try the specific acne treatment NB has, Blemish Focus because whilst the Oxygen Cream is great for preventing breakouts, I think I need something else to target the ones that come up due to hormones etc.
