caffeine...i preordered that bag in violet/black at bal ny...
it's called the moon or lune bag...
it's much more structured than the moto bags...

the neiman's here only bought it in pine/black and tomato/black...
here are some pics from when i went to try it on...
it's about the same size as the large rive gauche (15x13)...
not sure if they're continuing it next season, but if you check out the resort collection on style, there is a flatter variation of this style...

I've seen it person, it's really gorgeous but quite heavy, I must say. This season they're doing it in black, bordeaux red, pine, violet and blue (the blue one is in US Vogue August).
For next SS08 season they continue the style and also with new colours (of which I remember yellow at least) and new models, like a messenger/shoulder bag (sort of) and a clutch .

^I saw that one too in Harvey Nichols Dubai in violet/black.. it is a unique looking bag IRL.. I also loved the clutch in exactly the same combination of color with the gold turn lock

a friend of mine saw one the other day at bal ny...

it's funny that people think of them being heavy, but i don't...
maybe it's because i'm used to heavier, leather bags, like ones by marc jacobs...
if you're comparing it to the moto bags, then yes, it is heavier, but it's also a thicker leather than those bags...

agree with you regarding the weight of the bags...MJ are the heavist for sure!
I think that there are two size right? The large one seemed to be too large for me based on my recollection (saw the large one at the trunk show)...I probably need to pay a visit to the boutique. Do you know the price for both sizes? Thanks

yep, there are 2 sizes...
the one in my pics is $1975 and the taller version (comes with a shoulder strap) is $2275...

caffeine, i adore these bags (have since i saw them in the pre fall pictures a while ago)

i saw a few of them in different color combinations at neimans maybe a week or two ago, they merge modern and vintage influence perfectly imo.

Ok....On the contrary to most of the people here who owns tons of balenciagas.....I only have bought 2!....black...(bought it waaaaay back in like 2003) and a brown one that i already gave my sister.both are city.
so....i've never had a "coloured" one...........so both colours will be a brand new thing for me.......
